Re: Engine swap 24 engine 26 roadster
I think I will pull the head and have another look at that valves, Drop the pan and have a look at the crank and check the clearance. It does not smoke but does leak oil. I want to check the rear differential to make sure the washers have been changed, Retirement is on the horizon and the garage wil...

Re: Engine swap 24 engine 26 roadster
Okay Well I guess I will start looking for a new project for the engine. Hope to find something in Ohio. Need to look into the valve job and see how that works on a flathead Model T engine. I have done them on over head valve engines years ago. If I had a way to pour Babbitt and align bore the block...

Re: Engine swap 24 engine 26 roadster
It a little low on power when cruising with other T's. I have never had the engine rebuilt and when I got it the car the head gasket was on backwards so I pulled the head and one of the valves did not look good installed a new head gasket and it ran okay. As mentioned before one of the cylinder seem...

Re: Engine swap 24 engine 26 roadster
Man I thought it would be easier than all this. I guess a few options would be to stick it in and make it work while getting the 26 engine rebuilt or find a 24 to stick it in (always need another car) or build a speedster and stick the engine in that and drive the speedster while the 26 is down. I h...

Re: Engine swap 24 engine 26 roadster
If I change the pedals will I still need to make new floor boards? I would like it to look correct if possible. Maybe I can find a used set of pedals so I only have to take one hogs head apart. I would like to get the original engine rebuilt at some point. Interesting, you have an early needle nose ...

Re: Engine swap 24 engine 26 roadster
My apologies I should have been clear with my question. I have a 24 engine and transmission that was rebuilt by Ron's Machine Shop. I was unclear if I could just swap the hogs head but sounds like that's not an option. So I will do the engine transmission swap and change the floor boards. I attached...

Engine swap 24 engine 26 roadster
Hi Folks I recently purchased a rebuilt 24 engine (July 24 according to the SN) and want to install it in my 1926 Roadster. What issues will I run into if any? I see the pedals are different and I’m not sure if the hog’s head are interchangeable. I have read that some of them are not and just want t...

Re: 1922 over heating
I went and Looked at the car this morning and tested for combustion leaks in the radiator and it did not indicate any issues. I also retorqued the head and they did turn about 1/4 turn. I guess I am leaning to a radiator. We have no history on it being cleaned or tested so maybe the next step is the...

1922 over heating
Hi folks Just a quick question about over heating. I just got his 22 running for a friend that inherited it from a step father. Beautiful car. The story was the car had a rebuilt engine when they got it. I just fixed the carb from setting for a few years. Car starts and runs great (have not drove it...

Re: NH Carb question
Thanks everyone for the advice. I did find that the new gasket that came in the kit was about 3X thicker than the original gasket. I was able to get the float adjusted and will give it a shot. I read the initial fuel mixture adjustment should be out about 3/4 turn. Is that what you normally use? Whe...

NH Carb question
Hi Folks, it has been a while since I posted on here. A friend passed away and his son has asked me to help get there 22 Runabout going. It has been setting for several years, and I took the carb apart to clean it out. The float level was extremely high when I got it apart and I am not sure what the...

Re: It has been awhile and have a couple questions
Thanks everyone for the responses. Maybe the red I saw while sanding was the primer. I am still pretty happy with the car as is. I have taken it to a few local car shows and it is usually a big hit and I have won several trophies with it so I am very happy.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: It has been awhile and have a couple questions
Thanks for the reply. According the the SN the car was built in June. And that is if I am reading the book correctly. The same SN is on the engine and the frame rail so I would say that is the correct engine for the car. I do like to color of the car and I try not telling people their cars are not c...

It has been awhile and have a couple questions
Hi Folks It has been awhile since I have been on this forum and have a couple questions. Got my car out and cleaned up for a good drive and a friend sent a picture to a friend of his that has several model T's. He came back with some responses to the picture about my car and I want to see how true t...
