Re: The frustration of incompetence

If I remember correctly you lost a freeze plug and dropped most if not all of your coolant on your way home from the OCF. I would suggest removing one of the pistons and checking the rings and bore of the cylinder. Maybe checking for cracks while you are in there. Keep us posted on your progress.

Google 'Radiator Buffing MTFCA' and you will come up with some advice on cleaning up the radiator. The first thread returned by Google has the Jelf method in it. Hope this helps.

Re: How to tell if lacquer was applied to a brass radiator

Bob, A rotary tool with a buffing wheel should get that radiator shining. I know you can get buffing rouge at harbor freight. Used to be able to get it at Sears but of course they are no more. It will take some time but once buffed a coat of good brass polish should remove small scratches. If I reca...

Re: Visited the Model T Museum this year? Willing to share your experience?

I visited the Model T Museum for the Homecoming. It is hard to put into words the changes that have taken place over the last 3 years. The Annex has gone from extra storage to a functioning Machine shop, Ford Agency show room and exhibit space. I've also attended seminars put on in the annex to lear...

I found the small extinguisher in an antique shop. First time I've seen one like it so picked it up. A real conversation piece.

Lead additive for gasoline is nothing more than a top oil. Personally I use a top oil every other tank full of gasoline. I would submit to everyone there are very few Model T's that are anywhere close to original. The Rip Van Winkle T is one thing but a T that was possibly restored 50 or 60 years ago then left to deteriorate in a barn or shed is another.
