After a few coats, if not perfect some time with some very fine sandpaper and soapy water will correct the boo boos, then run a buffer over the whole thing. It will probably be so nice after that you’ll never want to do it the expensive way again. And if it gets damaged, put on more paint, wet sand ...

The spring is in compression, just when the pan is off you’ll be able to release tension by backing out the set screws on the clutch arms. If the driven Plate assembly is in good condition there will be no need to remove the spring. It’s not that tough a spring to remove if needed. Then remove the b...

With the hogshead off the high gear clutch is engaged no matter what you do. It is locked in high, without the release fork pushing on the clutch arms. You did nothing wrong. Pull the motor and take the engine apart and get that drum replaced. It will be spring before we know it!

Re: A Trip to Lang's
I’m about an hour and a half from Lang’s. They are not only very good business people, they are simply fantastic people. The help they have given me over the last week simply cannot be repaid and will not be forgotten. I love Lang’s old car parts! My favorite car in the facility well actually the tw...

Let’s not dwell..... LETS GET READY FOR HERSHEY!
So much of our automotive life that we look forward to this year is not going to happen. It’s unfortunate but for the greater good. We have this amazing outlet to talk cars, share our projects and minor adventures as we sneak away into deserted country to unwind( l see no harm in that as long as you...

Re: A Cry for Help with Re-wooding a Runabout Body
You couldn’t have better timing for this hardship. My wood came in for my 25 runabout. I have Loved seeing so many roadster wood pictures. This thread is going to be more of a help than any damn instruction sheet could ever be. Also good thing Chad is doing his first because he doesn’t live far from...

Re: Lang's Old Car Parts
I’m very fortunate to live close enough to be able to visit Lang’s in person. Next time I definitely need a shopping list for rummaging through the used parts section so I don’t forget stuff again! I hope to make a few trips a year!

Re: 1926 Model T Coupe update
Great to see your still at it and awesome that your car finally runs after all the setbacks! I’m still down here in the Berkshires getting a 20s style hotrod 25 roadster together. Through all the difficulties it can be difficult to keep with it! Hope to someday cross paths!

Thanks Scott! Those pics will go a long way in helping me when I find a body. Unfortunately this one is just to far away to pickup myself.

I’m desperately looking for a a 17-25 runabout body to put in a rolling chassis. Any chance you come across one?

Re: Runabout id?
I have been searching for a runabout body. If you’d carefully take apart and put it on a pallet I’d love to buy it. It doesn’t appear to bad.

Re: WTB 17-25 runabout body
I am expanding my search to 17-25 runabout project bodies. I still want the sheet metal to be complete and as good as possible but I don’t mind assembling a body. If you have a project body that you haven’t done anything with in a while I’d buy it and cherish it!

WTB 17-25 runabout body
have a very nice running chassis. I’ve been selling off all of my previous project to focus on putting together a 17-25 runabout. I am in need of a body for this project. I do prefer the early low radiator years but will be very happy with whatever is available in excellent or very good condition. I...

Re: Napa tour - bummer
I am going to be putting a completely new set of drums and triple gears up for sale. It is expensive but will last you the rest of your life to do it once with new parts than look all over to find crack free originals and still those are 100 years old. Just a thought.

Finally figure out how to login again! This is my car and the franklin racer is what I’m planning it to resemble. Here are also some pics of it along the way and to also show I’ve done more than it looks.
