Re: A Complicated Man

I am sure there are some T fans here who know the Jones & Hare song, "Since Henry Ford Apologized to Me." It's mostly satirical and lightly ridicules Jewish people for suddenly embracing Ford after the publication of that apology for some of the antisemitism in the Dearborn Independent. So I can see...

Re: A Complicated Man

Hey Charles, are you lost? I guess since phonos and T's both have cranks... :) :) Hello Mr Jerry, not quite--but kind of. The quarantine lockdown will do that! I just like reading about any & all things 1890s-1940s, and both the artifacts of that period and the history of the people involved are fa...

Re: A Complicated Man

The absolute worse place to get history is from Wikipedia . . . Worse than online fora ?!?   This is the stuff I like the forum for: self-aware humor and general kindliness. You guys get to the bottom of history while still taking it easy on one another, most of the time. As far...

Re: A Complicated Man

Thank you, Mr. Coiro, for a fascinating post on the life of Henry Ford. He was a very interesting man without whom the world would be a much different place. One hypothesis about Henry Ford's personality is that he may have been on the autism spectrum.^1^ Autistics are generally resistant to change ...

What is a “stock speedster”...
A Ford at full throttle going down hill with a stiff tailwind, no brake band, and the Weight Watchers' Convention "Before" models on board.

Non-starter engines post-1917

Hello; Sorry about being the longtime lurker; I usually use the antique phonograph forum to get my old-junk fix, but in the interest of picking up something else with a crank on it, I was curious about Model T's and have been for a very long time. Are non-starter engines really that easy to find? I ...

Re: 1926 drive train

That's really unfortunate. If the wheels were respoked and it was still running OK then it was probably a car someone enjoyed & cared a lot about, not just some old wreck pulled out of the woods. Hot rodding is automotive cancer. I'm glad the parts ended up in good hands, though, instead of a recycl...

Wow, usually when old stuff disappears it's gone for good. Glad to see the bodyshop owners co-operated with the policemen--

Re: Ran when parked

Well, the owner did get his math wrong. It's only 106 years old (1914 to 2020) not 114 like he suggests. That was the only thing I noticed--you guys did well picking the rest of it apart.

I'm glad to see the results of CSI: Detroit on here. Y'all ruthless--and that's good.

Ran when parked

I don't own this car, or any Model T for that matter, as my usual online hangout is the antique phonograph forum...but when I saw this I wanted to pass it on to you guys. It's on Tbay right now and I kind of thought some of you would enjoy seeing this car. Looks like a time capsule more than anythin...
