Model T vs Nevada Heat

I have always heard of the Model T's cooling system but I have never heard about how it fares in mid-summer Nevada weather (up to 115 F). How would Lizzie fare in those conditions?

Model Ts Illegal?

I know that Model T Fords are the pride and joy of hundreds of thousands of owners today. They are driven regularly, cared for, and shown off every day by many people. But it would seem like the poor car is getting left behind. And I'm not talking about them becoming obsolete by 1927. Just last week...

Re: So why so little interest?

However we are getting quite old now. The younger generations are interested in cars from the 50's and 60's. So even though our Model T's are in good condition, they don't sell for much because of the limited interest of the potential buyer. I agree with Norman Kling here. I am quite sociable in sc...

How Many ACTUALLY Made?

I'm confused. People say that the 15,000,000th Ford was the final Model T ever made. BUT! I do remember several times in the past being told that more were made than 15,000,000. I got a variety of numbers from 15,500,000 all the way up to 17,000,000?! I haven't had this explained to me yet in 6 year...

Anime Model T

Now, I am sure that many of you MTFCA users have seen T's in many movies old and new, even in Laurel & Hardy shorts and Mack Sennett comedies (though I am sure some of you will cringe at the sight of abused and destroyed Ts). This in itself is just a neat thing to see. And, one evening, I was doing ...

Dead Engines Can Run?

Hi, John again. You may have noticed my dumb questions in the past. Here's another. I recall watching a YouTube video claiming that the model t engine can be in TERRIBLE condition and still run. I already addressed the question on speed vs the engine, now I'd like to know what kind of major problems...

Re: How Fast is Too Fast?

John, So Far you didn't get very many real answers to your question but instead most guys just telling you why they like to go slow close to the 25 to 35 mark. That's a nice speed for in town but I find it too slow if there is any hill coming up. I hate to lug my engine down. Thanks, Gene. That rea...

How Fast is Too Fast?

I keep hearing the Model T Ford loves to cruise at 35 mph, and 45 is "abusing the engine." Most people recommend only going up to 35, but WHY? Don't give me "it's unsafe," I already know about that. But internally, engine-wise, what happens? What get damaged, worn faster?

Seat Belts, What of it?

I was going through Mac's catalog for Model T Fords and noticed that they were selling seat belts to be installed into the cars. At first I thought, "what a joke." But after giving it some thought, I began to wonder if installing seat belts would do any good for the passengers... The car was never d...

How to Paint a T?

I have found that people who own Ts tend to keep it original to its initial looks. But I sometimes see otherwise, like a red 1924 touring or a tricolor body, a green-painted engine, signal lights in the rear, etc. My question is how do you paint a T? What colors? What paint? Thank you!

Buying a T

Dear MTFCA mates,
I have been working very hard to earn at least $7,000 by the beginning of the next year. I have made $2,000 so far. That being said, does anybody know of a site were you can find cheap, plentiful, and decently running Ts?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IeUSBRzbxA In the link, a man in the video with a '26 as a daily driver says that he made the engine from 20 to 40 HP, and that he, "can now climb hills with it." He says that he put a high compression head on it. What does that mean? (I'm a novice when it comes to e...

To the person who is inculpating you, I verbalizes this: Now you heedfully listen here, mister! Just 'cause the tin can is old don't mean nothing in terms of its reliability. While it may not speed to cruise with modern conveyances, an automobile is simple metal on wheels, no matter the age!

"I promise you this, pal..."

It was the final few days of my 7th grade year. Everyone was studying, I being one of the few to study my hardest in the library. Then from out of the blue, my best (and only) friend comes up from behind me with one of his characteristic squeals and a slap on my back. He has what he likes to call a ...

I'm 16 but love everything old. I am a ham radio operator using Morse code, I use typewriters to type up rough drafts for school, I collect films to watch on my projectors, I photograph with my 1930s 35mm camera, record music on a wire recorder, play ragtime on my 110 year old piano, etc. Now that I...

Model T and Model A Engine Swap

There is a museum literally just across my park, the Clark County Museum. All the old technology that resides there is what keeps me visiting. Some of these things consists of cars. Sitting outside all day in dry cold/heat are a Model T, A, and a late 20s Chevrolet. While examining the cars, an old ...

Oh yes, Mr. Morsher, I would love to be able to do that kind of work. Maintaining a little old car is one of the joys that I want to experience when driving a T or A. In the part of Florida that I will be in, there is little traffic and everything I need is about 5 miles away. My high school, my fut...

Airconditioning in Model T?

Since I was in 4th grade, I have always wanted a Model T Ford as a daily car. They're just beautiful machines, what can say. Well, fast-forward 6 years and I am now on the fence between a Ford Model T going 45 mph and a Ford Model A going 65 mph. It's hard to choose between vintage qualities and rel...
