That rubber strip look like the piece that go in the bottom of the lower half of the 1926/2927 open cars windshield frame. It gives a seal between the cowel and the windshield frame. It would be inserted in the bottom of the frame starting at the small round hole at the beginning of the slot.

Re: A Lifter Difference

Lifters with the dip on top are candidates for the million mile club. That dip is wear. Beaten down by the valve stem. They need replaced.

Re: Time for new tires

A slight bend in the front axle yoak will wear one tire, yet the axle will pass the caster/camber test ok.
A hard stop by a curb will do it.

Tool box woes, keyless

When you have two nearly identical Yale lock tool boxes for your Model T and no key it is time to man up and do something about the key shortage. Relying on minimal knowledge gained some 50 years ago in a mail order locksmith course taken during a cold winter, I have achieved success and now have w...

I use a piece of solid stock turned to the crankshaft diameter clamping in thecap. Using solid material it acts as a heat sink to protect the babbit surface of the beaing cap. I work with a small acetylene flame.

Re: Pattern to cut floor for Ruckstell shifter?

If you put the shift lever on the left side you won't have to patch the hole in the middle of the floor when you decide that your shoe makes it difficult to get around the Ruckstell shift lever.

Re: How to install glass, 1927 Touring windshield

Installing the glass in your windshield frame is easy if you take the frame to your nearby glass shop and let them do it properly. It not that expensive. If you break it while you try to install it, you just doubled the cost.

You need valve seats to fix that crack. That may not be the only crack. #2 & 3 usually crack.
