Re: Coil Box Mounted Switch - What To Improve?
My experience with the switch. I have a '14 Touring and rebuilt my coil box. I also cleaned the switch and put in new wiring. One thing I found while rebuilding was the copper fingers in the box that touch the contacts on the coils had been changed by probably decades of prying/bending them out to m...

Is this Spring Clamp I found for a TT?
UPDATE: Yes it is a TT spring clamp. I was able to find an excellent correct spring clamp locally. Thanks to everybody that responded and helped me out! (I apologize in advance for the lighting in the pictures. However, I think they convey my issue.) I'm rebuilding a 26 Roadster. The front spring c...

Re: '14 Dash to Windshield Brackets
This thread brought back a bad memory of an incident. I bought a '14 Touring and was gradually fixing it up to be a reliable touring vehicle. My wife and I were riding in the front seat with the top up. (Note the windshield holds the front of the top down via its straps.) The wind was picking up and...

Re: Looking for comments on I Timer or E Timer
Add one to the iTimer satisfied customer list. It works very well for me as I have a non-starter 1914 car with only an auxiliary battery (Dewalt tool battery) for turn signals, brake lights, and powering the coils during crank start. It's been working for three full touring seasons. I carry a standa...

SOLD: Old '14 brass radiator
I have a complete, old, round tube, '14 brass radiator. It was working on my '14 Touring when I bought the car a few years ago. It has the usual corrosion in and on the necks and, of course, some small leaks. Is there any interest in it? I have the shipping box my new $$$$ radiator came in. I could ...

Re: Strange hole in wire wheel hub
A lot happens over the course of 100 years with different owners and mechanics making their mods and inflicting abuse, some sort of port for greasing the hub is a good guess. Hard to tell from the picture, is that chipped paint or a hole next to the lug nuts? Just chipped paint with some rust behin...

Strange hole in wire wheel hub
On my recently acquired 26 Runabout, one of the five wire wheels has this hole in the hub. Any ideas why it is there? I've considered it could be used for some kind of lock like a bicycle cable lock, but there doesn't seem to be a way to use a cable lock on the spare tire mount. https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: Help identifying these "shock absorbers"
I guess I should have searched a bit more. This previous post from 2009 http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/80257/111798.html?1256526518 identifies several that are similar. Lake, Liberty, and H.D. They don't have the name cast on them like the Lake brand. They mostly look like the Liberty and H.D ...

Help identifying these "shock absorbers"
Can anyone identify these? I'm mostly just curious. These accessory shock absorbers were on my car when I bought it. I've not seen them before but that doesn't mean they aren't common. Can anyone identify them? The spring perches are moved to opposite sides of the axle and installed facing outward t...
