Re: Engine noise within certain speeds
Hello. I have a 1916 Touring since some years. At the beginning I had troubles with overheating, it also appeared a bit weak, but over time the engine was running better and better. Now it is running very well, but I notice/hear a vibration when driving between 45-50 km/h (28-31 mph) on high gear. ...

Re: Noisy Generator Gear... I think....
Almost 4 years and no response.
Bump to the top.
I also have excessive clearance generator gear to cam gear. I have not tried anything yet, but I'm thinking a thinner gasket won't reduce the clearance enough. I might try no gasket and rtv sealer or a different generator mount. Thoughts ideas?

When I did the top on mine I removed a wood screw from there and replaced it with a new wood screw.

Re: Securing Camshaft Seal in Timer Cover
I usually squeeze mine between a couple blocks of wood ever so slightly, a little at a time then check the fit. I did something similar to this. I squeezed mine between to large thick washers drawing it together with a bolt and nut. I measured the bore size and squeezed until I was just over the me...

J&M Machine.... Their machine work is top notch, they don't cut corners, very knowledgeable and they take the time to answer all your questions. My engine runs like a top, I have them doing a second "T" engine for me.

Re: 26-7 roadster top rear offset
I just did the top on my roadster. I set the bow to with plumb line 2" back from the body. The instructions from Cartouche also recommend 2" on the '26 - '27. Sorry with all the pics I took I don't have one taken directly from the side showing the overhang. Oh and make sure the car is fairly level. ...

26 Roadster Top question
I am working on replacing the top on my 26 Roadster pickup. I have searched and read the forums and internet for hours and have not found a concrete answer. I am installing the top pads, should they be lined up parallel (even) to the side of the front bow? If not how high or low should it be? Also s...

Re: Steering bracket question
Thanks for the link. So it seems hat I suspected is correct. Now what? Do I clean up where I cut the threads? Have a machine shop bore it for a bushing or get another bracket?Scott_Conger wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 9:05 pmread

Steering bracket question
I am attempting to replace the bushings in my '21 steering bracket. I had no problem removing the lower bushing using a 7/8 tap method. The upper bushing is not brass but steel. I figured someone at some point replaced the upper with a steel bushing. So I proceeded to use the same method as the lowe...

Re: Bow wrapping
Yes. Put the seam on top so that it can't be seen inside the car. :) Do you understand what it means for the fabric to be cut on the bias? It means the threads run 45 degrees to the length of the bow wrap, like this: Yes I understand what it means to cut on the bias but that doesn't answer my quest...

Re: Bow wrapping
As you said, the bow wrap is cut on the bias (45 degrees). This gives it the flexibility to conform to the bends in the corners. Here is a video showing how Elizabeth at "Class it Up" does it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6Y8gKaKIrs&t=27s She is wrapping it lengthwise. Is that the correct way?

Bow wrapping
I'm working on replacing the top on my 26 Roadster pick up. I've spent hours searching this site and the web but can't seem to find a clear answer. How are the bows wrapped? On a 45 almost like you wrap a candy cane or length wise along the bow? Is the front bow wrapped like the other bows? Also how...

Re: 4 Post Lift Recommendations….
I got a Bendpak HD-7W and have no complaints. I decided to go with a Bendpak for few different reasons. Bendpak seems to be popular on a few different forums as well as a few car shows. Its was also available from a local lift company.
