Church pews would look the part and they are built solid. They always come up for sale at local antique auctions, antique stores/ malls, etc. Not hard to find and usually cheap when you find them.

Original Smith must have went to the wrong swap meet! Once again, the Long Beach Model T Club's "Gathering of the Faithful" did not disappoint! I had great luck today. The older reproductions had simple U bolts. The newer reproductions have pillow blocks. Either one works just fine. I have both on my cars. Remember, this thing barely rotates and it rarely rotates. It just needs to be secured to the frame. Not worth overthinking!!!

I like everything about this speedster. So many projects get started but die long before they get completed. You started-and finished this car in a relatively short time. Looks like the car is built using a complete Rootlieb Speedster kit including body, fenders and hood. If you need more information about the body, contact Rootlieb. I've built six of them using the Rootlieb kit. A great way to build a T speedster.

I believe the radiator cap is for a small series, 1935-1938'ish Packard. It is missing the actual "cap" part on the bottom, meaning this is the decorative top half. This is the standard issue cap, the deluxe or accessory cap would have the more often found Goddess of Speed mascot. Not a very valuabl...

Check your spindle arms. Earlier arms are straight and later arms have an upward curve. Your car should have the later ones with the upward curve (they come in right and left side). I agree with Dropacent. If you want blackwalls, take these off and resell them. New, blackwall 21" tires are still relatively cheap-the Universal brand which I really like are about 125.00 each. Plus, you will have the satisfaction of knowing your car has new tires which will likely outlast your own...

It is most likely a 1911 or 1912 Packard Model 18. The Model 18 was discontinued in 1912, so most 1912s are basically 1911s. The visual difference between a Model 18 and a Model 30 is the hood length-this car has a shorter hood. Of course, the Model 30 had a larger engine which accounted for the lon...

Don't ditch the Frontenac head. These are great items and if you have a good one, it will be really hard to replace. An overhead valve cylinder head is the heart and sole of a speedster.
