My understanding is that it is generally accepted that early Canadian C Fords were side entrance, but with step plates, not running boards. Refer attached. Just my 2 cents worth.

They were 1914 Models from memory and if I recall right the build quality of some components was/materials used, were poor. Specifically the engine blocks.

Our family 1923 which has been in the family from new (Canadian built, Timaru assembled) used Robertson screws. However I’m not sure of the years that did use the square heads.
