Re: Wire Wheel Lug Nuts - Question
On the 1926-27 Ford wire wheels, do yourself a favor and buy the stainless washers offered by the vendors. They help preserve the paint, but more importantly, they keep the studs from contacting the inside of the nut and dimpling them. I've found that it's common for the holes in the wheels to beco...

Re: Wire Wheel Lug Nuts - Question
Re pop sets are available from vendors. There is/was a modern version with a slightly or next size hex & a bit taller, but very close in appearance otherwise. They were available at most auto parts stores like Pep Boys. I got mine @ a hot rod swap meet. The last ones I saw had the size stamped on t...

Re: Block preparation before machining.
Is there anything I need to be careful of when removing both shafts? I would definitely mark the timing gear position for reinstallation, anything else?

Block preparation before machining.
Hello, I am in the early stages of rebuilding my 1917 Model T engine and I'm looking for some advice for preparing my block for machining. I've disassembled it almost entirely and cleaned/degreased it well. My question is: do I need to remove the crank and cam shafts prior to sending it away for dec...
