Re: Looking to find someone in west Michigan to teach me to drive my Model T
Hoping I can find someone in West Michigan, Holland to be exact, who can teach me to drive my newly rebuilt 1927 Touring and also help me correctly adjust my bands, brakes and whatever needs adjusting, I've only driven a few blocks and I'm quite terrible at it. If you can't find anyone closer, I li...

Re: Planning a visit to the Henry Ford Museum
My family has a membership to the Henry Ford/Greenfield Village. It is worth whatever hassle you have to go through to get there. You could easily spend a whole day in the Village and a second whole day in the Museum but if you walk quickly and don't look at every single thing/building, you could do...

I've been working toward a goal of driving my Model T on every mile of every non-interstate road in my township. It is fun seeing how many waves I get as I tool down dirt roads that probably haven't seen a T in years.

I have a set on my '26. They work well. I wish they made a set that would work for front and back signals.

Re: Tire Balancing Beads
I was just messing around with installing these in my '26 Model T last night. After spending a frustrating 90 minutes on the first tire with little success, I finally hit on a procedure that worked well. 5 minutes per tire for the last three. Here's how I did it: 1) After removing the valve stem cor...

So far, just put a few miles on her. In doing that, I added a bit of oil and cleaned out the timer, but that's just maintenance stuff.

Re: Radiator problem found
A new Bergs or Brassworks will run you about $900. I bought one for my car and, even with a freshly babbitted and tight engine, it still won't boil over. Definitely worth the expense if you plan to drive your car.Jonah D'Avella wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 8:09 amIf it wont clear out, how much is a new radiator for a 26?

I drove to a local pre-war only cruise in in my hometown of Charlotte, MI. More cars than I thought and thankfully no hot rods, etc.

Some real nice dirt roads for touring around my house. I love driving around and seeing the cows playing in the fields, seeing the crops grow, etc. The T is perfect for this kind of area.

As others have said, watch yourself in terms of legality. In my state, these kind of things would be illegal for a licensed motor vehicle. Same with a slow moving vehicle triangle, etc.

In a great HCCA video the owner of a 1909 Pierce Arrow was asked how fast the car would go? He replied, "It will go 60 or 65, but I only have brakes for 30". Need we say more about speed?!?!? I say pretty much the same thing about my 1939 Packard when asked about how fast it will go. I say "she'll ...

Float level is my first though. Maybe the impact jarred the needle valve, sticking it open, or perhaps bent the float arm.

I'm with Steve Jelf. I'm an atheist (i.e. no religion or belief in a higher power whatsoever) but I see prayer requests as a way of one person doing what they think is a nice thing for another person. No harm in it and no offense taken. Now, if they demanded that we all pray to their chosen god or t...

Re: August: What have you done with your T.
This month, I got my block back from rebabbitting the mains. I then reassembled the engine, reinstalled it in the car, and got the car up and running again. Last month I painted it and put a temporary interior in just so I can enjoy some time behind the wheel. I'm hoping to install a proper interior...
