Re: Aluminum radiator
For what it's worth, I'm in my second season of running a Ford 9n tractor radiator on my speedster. Buying a new T rad was out of the question for me so I had to come up with something. It's a copper rad so it was within my capabilities to change what had to be changed for it to work. The $169.00 pr...

Re: New York to San Francisco via Lincoln Highway
I'm in Cedar Rapids Iowa. It would be great if could roll a long through town with you in my 26 speedster. A friend of mine also has a 24. I don't know if that's possible but it would be a thrill.

Cost of getting these things into a useable condition is rising by the hour... so no... you're not
being cheap.

Re: 26-27 rear brakes
I installed new linings on my "26" two years ago in June, they were pretty tight.. Then I just drove the thing... by mid July, they were a good fit. I do agree with checking how the edge of the drum matches up with the back plate. You might have to shim hub out a bit to get a better fit.

Re: WhistlinDiesel's youtube and the FB T group
I've seen the video where the T is destroyed and frankly you can find as much destruction in a 1920s comedy film. I don't think the video or the channel will keep the sun from coming up tomorrow, nor do I think the channel or the host have any redeeming qualities. It's not something I would want to ...

Re: Steven at Fliver channel has some new videos
Steven always has some good info in his videos and the filming is top notch. A smooth shift in a T is a thing of beauty. My favorite shifting sin is
when a driver lets the engine rev madly as he passes thru neutral, then hits high with a neck snapping jerk.

Re: Tachometer drive on Model T
This needs to be explored further. I've always daydreamed of having a tach on my speedster. (and as usual, by not spending any money, doing anything the right way or using the correct tools) I also would like to be the first to say "that's not the way Henry did it" and "why would you do that"

28 Chev head adapter
Is it still possible to purchase a 28 Chevy head adapter plate or kit? I've looked at some posts about it but they are quite old. Hopefully somebody still makes one. Thanks

I'm gona kick myself for not selling my "new in package" copper head gasket on Ebay now, when they are back in stock at $40.00 next summer!

That is the speedo I'm using, I think I paid $60.00 for it. A lot of the speedos were saved when the cars were scrapped but all the parts to make them function... not so much. I made my own parts because I won't pay what people want for them.

That looks like it's in about the same shape as what I started with.. mine is a running driving speedster now, so there is hope for it! Don't worry too much about the details.. you'll have plenty of time to day dream while you are cleaning parts on the wire wheel for hundreds of hours.

Randahl I'm not one to talk about correct model T's. I try to drive, share & show my T's. To say that model T's where only repaired with correct parts would be ignoring the fact that the model T bore forth the automotive aftermarket industry that lets us repair and get our cars without being raped ...

Re: Aluminum Radiator?
Nope that is never going to work! I say, if you can't get a proper T radiator (for your specific year and time of day your car was assembled) you should just forget driving it this summer and spend your time doing yard work. And if you pursue this, you will have to live with the shame of what you ha...
