Looking for tips on going back to natural colored spokes...

Setting the debate between painted versus natural wood spokes aside for a moment, I am in the process of stripping the paint off of the wheels on my '23T. It's going pretty smoothly and I think the spokes are going to look pretty good once most of the paint is gone. IMG_0476.JPG I would love to hear...

Re: Trick for mounting tires with tubes and flaps....

I did use lots of baby powder and the tube did not have the shrader valve in it. The issue was the circumference of the flap. It kept coming out of the tire as I started the mounting process. By holding the assembly closed it had no choice but to stretch! :-)

Trick for mounting tires with tubes and flaps....

I just had my first experience replacing the tires on my '23 T. It reminded me a little of what wrestling a bear must be like. The tires were old and the rims were rusted so removal was challenging. I'm not sure the control rods to each are in the right orientation and I'd like to find any reference materials that would help me see how they SHOULD be installed. Thanks in adva...

Re: Replacing brake quadrant on '23 Touring...

Many thanks Scott, Steve and Dan. I greatly appreciate your quick responses. I'm tempted to go with bolts initially and replace them with the rivets when I get more time to disassemble the body parts blocking my path.

Thanks you all for your willingness to share.

Replacing brake quadrant on '23 Touring...

I am brand new to Model T's but very old to mechanic'ing. One of my first projects on my T is to overhaul the hand brake assembly which is completely worn out. I've ordered a new pawl and brake quadrant along with the rivets for all of it. I'd love to hear from someone who's undertaken this to get t...
