The part with the heat sink looks like a voltage regulator. Everything else looks like resistors and one transistor. You may be right, could be a homemade mag charger. These components would be all you would need.

WTB Brake equalizer for '23 touring - Found one

Greetings! I'm looking for a brake equalizer that fits a '23. I see ones for sale at the vendors for '26-'27 but not older cars. If you have one you would be willing to sell, know where I can get one, or have plans of how I can put one together, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Re: Front end wobble at low speed

Watch out for wobble like this and this in the spindle and bad bearings that are shot, like this.

I'm not aware of your means and shop access, but I was able to replace my spindle bushings nicely in my little garage. If you go down that route, check out my post here.

Re: high low bulb socket

A couple of weeks ago double pin light sockets were out of stock at Langs, Snyders, MACs, and Smith & Jones. Chaffin's had them but they confirmed that they are struggling to order more. You may want to pick them up from Chaffin's while you can. Chaffins: (951) 226-7331 Availability across vendors m...

Radiator repair and eventual replacement As I mentioned in this post , I sent my radiator off to the shop, not realizing that Snyder's had them in stock (low flat-tube). The shop fixed the leak, although they admitted it was a tenuous repair and anything better would require restoration work. The me...

Thanks Rod. It's a good message for people to hear. It's a shame that our little corner of the internet can't be free of these lowlifes. It also shows how far they will go to try and scam people.

The gremlins are back! Everything seemed like it was working until it wasn't. I turned the lights on again and the whole car shut down, while I was on battery. I switched to mag and drove home without issue. Even though it was frustrating, this time the battery side of the car was consistently dead ...

Re: DIAGNOSIS PLEASE!!!!

I have a recent rebuild... didn't get black smoke out of the back, but did see smoke bypassing the valves (coming from the valve cover), and some coming from the oil fill cap. The smoke has taken care of itself with run in and oil changes (5w-30 non-synth for me, with a dose of Zinc additive). Had a...

Radiator availability - Black Cars - Aug 2023

After my most recent radiator issues , I started looking for a new one. I saw wait times measured in weeks and months, and heard from other forum members about their long waits. With all this, I sent my radiator to the shop and figured I'd get on the wait list. I called most of the well known parts ...

Re: What have you done to your Model T in August?

This week I moved our 1911 and 1915 to our new to us house. The house is about 3 miles from our old house, and it is not often that I drive both back to back within a few minutes of each other. The 3rd stall of the garage is more than double the depth of a regular stall, so there is even enough roo...

The new socket seems to have worked. My son (9 years old) installed the new socket, with some direction, and we can't recreate the issue. I've been using Ron Patterson's wiring diagram . All the wires are brand new from the switch to the headlight. The only difference in my system is that I've eliminated the horn for now. The switch is older, maybe original? Fuel flow seems fine. Carb is rebuilt as well. Fuel tank flushed, steady flow...

Can you start this engine on a starter? It is possible the battery is not completely charged. Try a 6 volt charger on the battery while it is running with both lights on and see if it still kills the engine. If it stills while on the charger, you have something wrong with the battery. Even the grou...

Thanks for all of the replys. I'll try an answer across the board here. I'm focusing on the headlight/stalling issue at the moment, and have been treating the mag issue separately. For the mag issue, there is a wealth of information on mag problems here and I'll work through those posts first. If I ...

Death by headlight socket?

Place your bets: is it the headlight socket, the switch or something else? I noticed that I have a complete loss of electrics, and the engine stalls when I turn on headlights... sometimes. It is reproducible. I can idle the car in my driveway, and flip the lights on and off, and eventually the engin...

I got my notice that the registration deadline to have a car in the show at Hershey is August 15th. If you're going, let us know. I'm curious what bringing a car there is like. I'm less than 1.5 hours away and I'm considering going, with or without my T. Do they make it easy to trailer a car over an...
