Re: Wanted - Radius Rods for a 1925

Ken,

Any place to source weldable threaded ends for the rods or do you have to make them yourself?

Wanted - Radius Rods for a 1925

I need two rods for a rebuild. The two that were taken off have lost a good amount of thread due to rust.

Thanks for any help.

Contact info for Dave Huson

I just talked to Gene French and he referred me to Dave Huson for a part I am looking for. I found a web site of his modeltcentral.com but it does not allow a message to be sent. The site looks to be untouched for a long time.

If anyone has a way to contact him please PM me.

Thanks

RajoRacer,

It is a true 25. The block is the only thing that I know was original.

So I need a 4 dip.

Big2bird,

Because a 3dip was on it originally. Not because of my experience as I'm just barely past novice stage.

I'm looking for an oil pan in good useable shape. I'm in Cheyenne so from Denver north would be a reasonable driving distance.

Please let me know.

Oil Pan Help

I have an oil pan that looks to have sat in water for a very long time. The drain hole threads are pretty much gone. Is there any repair kit for this problem? I was planning to use electrolysis to remove the rust, paint it and move on, but I may need to find a replacement oil pan. I search the forum...

I bought it from Jim (25tfire), the engine shop is rebuilding my 25 for my 25 Roadster Truck (metal bed). Not to many of those around. Oh and the engine shop has rebuilt many T engines is works closely with Gene French who is the goto guy for re babbitts in northern Colorado. The mice got in in Jim'...

Re: crank shaft/piston arm question

FYI - The engine was never left open as it was full of mice. I took it apart to clean out that mess.

I think its best to move to my engine guy and get it rebuilt.

Oh and just because I called a connecting rod a piston arm does not mean I do not know my way around an engine.

crank shaft/piston arm question

Checking a 17 engine and I found wear in the piston arm babbitts at the edges. Enough that I think I should replace them. The three pictures are the crank under those arms. You will see some wear. My question is: I want to buy piston arms that are already babbited from a shop and install those and n...
