Re: Serial Number Stamping.
Many thanks for the response to my post. According to the serial number my 1914 Touring was manufactured during May 1914. That is good enough for me.

Serial Number Stamping.
Did Ford stamp the serial number on the frame, or elsewhere, on the Model "T" like they did on the Model "A"? If so, i would like to compare that number with the number on the engine and the Title on my 1914 Touring. All replys appreciated.

Hi Kim,
i saw your post for parts for sale. Do you have a running board tool box for sale? i am looking for the longer bos, approximately 22 inches, that is not rusted out, dent free, for my unrestored Model T. Some surface rust and old paint is okay. Thank you. !!!!

Re: Model T vs Model A
I have owned and driven both the T and A and other antique cars over the years and have enjoyed the T and the A for different reasons. The A is a better road car but the T put the world on wheels and has no equal in the early years of the automobile. In my opinion no automobile museum in the world i...

After many years of involvement with a variety of antique motor vehicles I have yet to find one that doesn't at least drip oil regardless of the effort that goes into trying to prevent any leaking. My advice is to keep a mat under the vehicle in the garage to catch the drips. learn to accept the dri...

Ken,
Many thanks for the information on the fabrication of the crossover tube. The tubing clamp you show I can fabricate. As you mentioned fan clearance can be an issue as there is not much room to spare.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

No, there is no crossover tube. A previous owner had the radiator gone over with a new core and the crossover tube was not replaced.

Re: Power Unit
It was a common practice back in the 1920's and 1930's to build home built powerplants from Model "T" and "A" engines that were easy to come by. Your powerplant, on the other hand, is a well engineered and quite rare factory built unit. i hope you restore it and display it at not only "T" shows but ...

Thank you Mark for referring me to the earlier threads relative to the installation of the gas line. Although there appears to be some question as to the routing of the tubing I now have enough information to do an acceptable , if not easy, job with the body on the chassis.

This post reminded me of when I was changing bands many years ago on a Model T for the first time. Not being careful enough I dropped a band nut down into the transmission. I removed the hogshead, stuffed a rag between the ring gear and the transmission housing and turned over the engine by hand. th...

The linseed oil I have used over the years is 'boiled'. The best remedy for dried out loose wooden spokes is replacing them with new spokes , not trying to preserve them.

When installing the gas lamp tubing that I believe is around 8 feet long, how and where is it attached to the car, and does it remain straight or are bends required. Once attached hooking up the rubber hoses to it should be relatively easy.

All good and valid points but I will add one more. it seems that the automotive engineers of that era did not understand the importance of filtering the air entering the carburetor. cars back then operated mostly on dirt roads and a lot of dust was sucked into the engine resulting in frequent engine...

Great point on the use of copper tubing . Lang's sell the kit, catalog " BL-T and it does contain copper tubing and parts. I don't intend using the lights but maybe another future owner would do so. Thank you to all the respondents to my post.
