Re: Find the 'Ford'
The OP didn’t specify that the “Ford” logo needed to be an original part, so here is my submission. I added an electric stop light to my ‘15 touring, which meant i needed a stop light switch. The switch being near the trans inspection cover, I was worried that a tool might inadvertently short out on...

My wife had a knee replaced 3 months ago. She has had other surgeries, but says this was the most painful recovery. Also says it was well worth it. Re: Hood Support Rod Moving
Just an update. I ended up welding a piece of steel rod on the back end of the hood rod, about 1/2” long. The rod now bottoms out on the wood firewall and keeps the front end squarely in the radiator saddle.
Thanks all for your insights and advice.

Re: Hood Support Rod Moving
Thanks all for the suggestions. I had previously used a center punch on the rod just forward of the hinge, hoping it would not slide back into the hinges but that didn’t work. I’ll try a bigger punch on the underside of the hinge to try to pin the sheet metal to the rod.

My hood support rod keeps moving rearward. It only takes about 10 miles of driving for the rod to slide off off the cradle on the radiator. Is this normal? Is there a common fix?

Model T Commemorative Coin- Just for Fun!
I very much enjoy giving friends and extended family rides in my 1915 Touring car. Most of them have only seen a car this old in a museum or in a parade, so being able to experience a ride firsthand is something special. I always receive enthusiastic and appreciative comments. 18 months ago, I got m...

Re: How do I Remove This Gear ?
I made a support tube to keep the axle from bending while pressing using a 2x2 square tube fitted with thumb screws so the axle would be supported from bending by the tube before any bending could occur. I ground smooth the ends of the screws so they wouldn’t scar the shaft, and welded a nut at the ...

Re: Warped exhaust manifold.
My manifold was warped, with the two center ports about 1/8" out of alignment. Since I didn't have enough experience to know better, I built an alignment fixture and gave heat straightening a try, using the "just let the weight of the wrench apply the pressure" technique. The first time I tried it, ...

About 3 years ago I had new wood put into my wheels by Stutzman’s. The wood was just so pretty, so I decided to stain and finish them with 7 coats of marine spar varnish.
