Going to take a few crankshafts to the grinder. Lining them up I see difference in web thickness, any advantage to either. None are marked EE that I can see, I’ll be cleaning them up and taking some measurements to see if they are worth grinding. Have a need for 2 of them now and a spare is always g...

27 chassis. Engine is said to run but froze and broke the head and pushed out a core plug. Tires decent, has newer radiator (2 yrs old). Body pulled for a hotrod. Offered $1500, he is wanting more.

Just so I’m clear. A rod bolt was loose, not the rod on the journal. No shims, if I tighten this bolt it will tighten on the journal to where you cannot turn the engine. It seems that if it HAD a shim and a tight bolt all would be fine? It would have some oil clearance and the bolt tight. Journal lo...

Not much for cams out there. Been looking as well. Hard to pay $500 for a simple low lift 4 cylinder cam. I’m used to BIG V8 solid roller cams that don’t cost what these do. When you have such a small market it’s good we have anything I suppose.

Idling a Model T requires "riding the clutch", since there is no true neutral. The throwout collar is a simple brass bearing, and it does not appear to be designed for extended use. Im new to T’s, working on my 27’ to get it in running order. Seems the thrust load on the crankshaft and the brass bearing in the transmission would be hard on them if kept in neutral for extended times. Any thoughts?
