Re: overheating
Thanks all for the helpful comments. The digital thermometer says 224 degrees. It was a quick change from normal. This heating problem started after some timing issues( including backfires) which I believe I have corrected. After looking at all of the comments it seems as if there might be a bad hea...

overheating
My 1926 car has been running well with the Motometre showing the red just below the little window. All of a sudden a few days ago it started pushing the Motometre thermomoter to the very top. I changed a questionable plug and a week buzz coil and readjusted the commutator. Still goes to the top ( 22...

I have never done that in a T but Cape Breton would be beautiful You would definitely need at least Ruxtell and disk brakes

Re: Clutch then no clutch
Good morning. I want to thank everyone who helped. I appreciate all the helpful ideas. I ended up lucky as it appears there were no cotter pins in the finger adjusters and they had not backed out ALL the way yet. As I said we did several rebuilds and swaps lately and I guess I must have left the cot...

Re: Clutch then no clutch
Hi Norman. Thanks. Everything was working perfectly and then a funny noise and high gear slowly disappeared. I will ck the linkage first. Hi Joe. Thanks. I think you may be correct. Is there anywhere I can look up info on changing the spring while still in car. I have always done the spring on the w...

Clutch then no clutch
Help! Yesterday while driving my grand children the clutch made a noise and began to slip somewhat until it would no longer grab at all. I believe the spring may have failed. Looking for the best way to determine if this is so and how to best repair this. [image][image] IMG_0227.jpg [/image][/image]...

The HORN
Should all of the electric horns sound the same, even the 1926/27. My 23 has a very distinctive sound ( kind of a BERRZZZE) as many of the Model T's I have herd over the years. I wonder if the 26 should have the same sound. I just got a 26 touring and the horn BEEPS. Will need to look for a new horn...

Re: Kelsey split rims
I take it that the pin that holds the two sides together is friction fit. I did not notice any fasteners on the pin. Does anyone know for sure?

Re: Kelsey split rims
Hi Allan, We are planning to make new ones for my wheels. I tried a hinge but you would need the multiple barrels for stability. I plan to make these pieces so they will resemble the original only made stronger with better steel. John from Nova Scotia , Canada

Hi Scot C. Thanks for the photos. That information is very helpful. I was wondering what type of fastener and what size was used in the wheel. I will put this information to good use. Happy motoring, John

Re: Kelsey split rims
Hi Mark, It is like the two halves of a small hinge. Each piece would normally be riveted to the rim but I am not sure how the halves lock It must have been a poor design as most that I have found are broken. Most Canadian cars seem to have had the Kelsey rims and as they failed they were replaced w...

Need more information. Does anyone have pictures of the 1926 Kelsey split rim locking device on the rim that fits up inside the fellow? ( I may have included a photo thanks to the person who provided this photo ) I would also like to see photos of the pin that locked it together. Thanks in advance.

Re: 26/27 wooden body block spacers
My problem is more concerning than using the block kit sold by the vendors The previous partial restoration (30 years ago an old gentleman partially restored the car with the exception of the interior to the best of his ability) included a 2X6 piece of lumber between frame mounts and body mounts the...

26/27 wooden body block spacers
I am wondering if wooden spacers were used between the body mount on the frame and the body of a 26 touring. If so how thick would the spacer be? Cheers, John
