Re: Pictures from Duncan?
The Whippet is owned by a gentleman named Charlie Glick. He is asking $12,000 for it. It has had considerable mechanical work done on it. Charlie is a friend of mine and the car if not sold, lives in Paris Illinois. I don’t know its value, but with the list of what has been done to it, you would be ...

Re: Bendix Cover Screws: Size?
For ease of removal, I chose to use hex head cap screws I gave up on originality for ease of installation. A long Allen socket sure makes installation and tightening easier. I wouldn’t do it on a restoration, but for a driver, it made life much easier. I found a source for them thru a motorcycle sup...

Re: Phinney Walker clock
Well, since I started this, I figured I would show the progress. A short trip to the bead blasting cabinet and a quick shot of etching primer left me to find the appropriate color. I was searching thru color chips trying to determine the color from what remained on the case. I narrowed it down to 3-...

An overnight soak in lacquer thinner did the trick
Now it is off to the glass shop to have the mirror redone.

Re: Phinney Walker clock
Well, I’ve made some progress. The case separated with a bit of gentle persuasion, and then the clock(watch) was able to be removed, it appears that there is a stainless steel bezel that would have held the watch crystal was used with out the crystal. It was replaced with the beveled glass that make...

Phinney Walker clock
This rear view mirror was in a 27 roadster I recently bought. The clock, surprisingly works and keeps time. The mirror glass though is in need of re-silvering. Has anyone ever had one of these apart? I’m thinking it is bonded to the glass somehow but don’t want to break it, since it it has beveled e...

Cloudy dusty day in STL
The Model T Club of Greater St. Louis brought 7 cars to the the Patrick’s Day parade on 3/15. We awoke to an overcast day after the terrible storm rolled thru the area the night before. All of the dirt that was kicked up coming across the plains made for a dreary looking day. We compensated by havin...

Re: What are you doing with your T in March ?
Yeah, I was at my wits end with the shimmy. I’ve been through the front end top to bottom and cannot for the life of me figure it out. This was my last ditch effort to solve it. I’m not a fan of it so much, but it has to be better than what I (we) experienced on the fall tour through St. Charles on ...

Re: What are you doing with your T in March ?
Finally got a break from other work and decided that the fix for my front end shimmy was to add the steering stabilizer. I also put the step plate on. i wanted to get the holes drilled before I decide that I will finally start doing some needed body repairs. I also installed a fan hub with the seale...
