Re: MY 1924 coupe and experiences as a new driver/owner
You need the right spring to keep the crank away from the crankshaft. A little oil on the crank bearing from time to time will prevent wear and ease cranking. Any excess oil will probably get on the front spring, which is good for it. Many people say that rebuilding an original starter switch gives...

Napa usually has an online coupon for 10-20% off over $125 purchases. I usually fill the munny gap with whatever oils are on sale. I buy the napa branded rotella by the gallon, along with gear oil... your bucket of 30w would be just fine. some members of our club use synthetic some don't. I don't be...

I had only one instance where some steam was coming out of the overflow tube. I was cautioned the round tube radiator, while correct was not as efficient as a flat tube, but so far it's performance has been sufficient. The new fangled phone thing worked so I could get gas. It was a hot day today, and when I got home she was percolating but not over heating. When she cools down I’ll try different cutout springs. Whistle is much more useable now. I had put some rtv on the flap and where it sits and let it dry while open, and it leaks less… I also bought a slew of springs at the ace herdware and repositioned the cable AND the new springs so they are more inline with the flap. There is still a little leak but ...

Re: MY 1924 coupe and experiences as a new driver/owner
If the cut out springs get very hot, they will probably get weak. You can adjust the carb while driving down the road. Somewhere around 1 turn off the seat is usually OK. I start my car at about 1 1/8 turns off the seat, and it runs good when warmed up at about 7/8 to 3/4 turn off the seat. Most ad...

I ended up putting a 90* on the backside of the intake.
It's not visible except for the vacuum hose, if I were to plug it, at the 90 or with the 90 removed. it would not be visible at all.

Fill the radiator until the upper tank is about half full. If you are using plain water, fill it to the top. 10 to 11 MPG is rather low for a Model T. You may find it is doing better after a few fill ups. I'd think your car could do more like 15 MPG without trying too hard. The most accurate result...

I wasn’t expecting my pinstripe tool until monday, but usps screwed up and delivered it today. I’m only waiting on my white paint, which arrives tomorrow. Red paint arrived today. The new gps odometer lacks a few features of the one that only cost $10 more but it is more useful by a lot. I really on...

Those dippers show signs of never being fitted, just put over the rod bolts and drawn down, conforming to the rod as they go.They should not distort inwards at the sides of the scoop, and the rod holes should not be stretched oval If they were fitted, there would need to be some relief on the sides...

There is a looberkashun hole in the cap.
I have a new dipper and I can see how it’s spot welded to the flange.
When I get the old one off I’ll see where the old one failed.

Question - did you jack the front of the car up when you drained the oil? If not, you want to do that before you pull the cover. There is like half a quart of oil in the pan dips, it is a lot less messy when you can get as much out as possible ahead of time. It is probably still going to be messy. ...

When you go back, don’t use reproduction clutch disc. Never had any luck with them. Go with 400 disc and original large disc. Original Ford discs, in good condition, are also an excellent option. I feel that they tend to be more "bullet-proof". Others prefer the Turbo 400 discs, which is fine. If y...
