Could be a clogged main jet which you can acess from under the car by removing the float bowl and chasing the jet oriface with some stranded wire. If it runs fine cold until it heats up and then sputters, I would suspect condensers.

Re: Removing a legacy water pump
Drill a hole in the side of a socket of that size to accept a steel rod that you turn. A socket may fit in that space but if not, take it down some.

Re: Excessive wear of New Day rotor
Looks like water got trapped in it. You could cut a round piece of plywood and stick a superfine sanding disk on it with a bolt thru in center and put it in a drill to grind it smooth again. Cut a notch in the bottom edge of the timer so water can drain out.

You could try Town Fair Tire if there is one near you. I brought Cokers from them special order. No shipping charge.

The test method should have test specimen specs. May even be a MIL-spec if aviation related.

You could relocate it to the lip that holds the front floorboard, it would be an easy mount and out of the way.

Perhaps what you had in mind was a leatherback T coupe, which would be pretty neat. I like the leatherback Model A's, its that thick grain leather stuff that sets if off. People have built all kinds of bodies on T frames. Building your own might be kinda fun.

Re: Mysterious Starter Bendix Bolt Breakage
Yes Allan. Most of the time replacements arent good wuslity and need repair of tweaking before mounting. I think every moving part has the amount of wear present on that spring, and if all was replaced, it would be a Chinese car.

Does that sign imply that it doesnt burn oil? Do you have the couplet body or are you just in love with the style? If you like speedsters, there is a speedster body posted in the for sale section.

That spring does show usage. For me, $15 for a new spring is good addition for starting pleasure. Fixing busted and bend spring from under the T is a pain ;) Photo from forum poster on his bent out of shape spring that needed replacing. 249116.jpg I have more faith in the old one than a new one.

Re: Mysterious Starter Bendix Bolt Breakage
I can post a picture tonight of the spring but it appears to match the digram and the starter was working fine in spite of the worn bushings and brushes. The spring was not preloaded when I ran out the two bolts, does it get assembled in static state?

I reused the same bolt, origin unknown but looks rough. It could have had stress in that area and that was it's last dance. 6V, no mods.

Mysterious Starter Bendix Bolt Breakage
I put new bushings with shaft seal, brushes in my starter to resolve the oil leaking out of the starter peep hole. It spins fine and in the right direction. After I installed the bendix and cover, I pressed the starter pedal and I heard a clunk and then free-spinning of the starter. I took the cover...

Re: Ideas on successful transport plan
Looks like a neat relic! To make it easier to roll out, lay some plywood or chipboard down in its tracks. Pull the sparkplugs out and put a tablespoon of oil in each cylinder and replace them after its up on the flatbead. That way if its partially stuck in gear the engine will spin, it wont plow its...

I have seen some of the ones pictured at junk shops and tag sales but passed them up (pre T days). I have the adjustable wrench but its frozen, any tips on how to free it up without buggering it up?
