Re: Ben's Model-T Pie Wagon [1911-1925]

… And as for the fuel filter thought, is running the cast brass sediment bulb a little better or still present the same issue as a fuel filter (napa 3032) ? There’s lots of room below the screen in the sediment bulb, so trash will not have any effect on fuel flow until it gets up to the screen. Eve...

Preview: Re: Langs vs Synders vs Texas T vs ?? Each of the suppliers vary on shipping costs - and there are differences I've ordered from all these except the "new" Ecklers Depending on what your buying it pays to check prices. I recently purchased an item from Chaffins that others claimed either o...

Re: Ben's Model-T Pie Wagon [1911-1925]

Night driving is not something that interests me in colorado.... at least not in a Model T. I live around an area that has elk, deer, and turkeys crossing the roads. Not interested in pairing up with those animals.... even if it is only 20-30mph. And as for the fuel filter thought, is running the ca...

Re: Seat upgrade - not about era correct, just comfort

yes, I know what you mean... the height of the bottom springs might be an issue. might require an oval gas tank to reduce the height. I know I know.... this starting down a path of one project leads to another one and before you know, nothing looks the same as it used to. I gotta find that line in t...

Re: Ben's Model-T Pie Wagon [1911-1925]

Installing a fuel filter is the worst thing on your to-do list. Don't do it. It will give you more grief than it's worth. They are too restrictive and will starve your engine unless you have a non-stock fuel pump. This is the kind of info I like to hear about... everyone's trial by error stories. I...

Seat upgrade - not about era correct, just comfort

I know I will get some flack for this thread.... or maybe I wont? Here is my current seat setup: 20231026_04-06-37_PM-5317.jpg It doesn't really do much for comfort or an second passenger. I would like to put a tufted, leather seat in place of this, just unsure if there is anything out there that wo...

Re: What timer do you use

I"m learning as I go... but just bought a replacement NewDay for my current NewDay.
Aside from needing to knock the film/glaze off it with an emery cloth it was fine, however the wires are in bad shape so that is why I ordered a new one.

Langs vs Synders vs Texas T vs ??

Tried searching for this.... I didn't really find anything, so thought I would ask. (apologies if I missed it too) Aside from the classifieds section, I'm getting to know the places to buy parts for my T. Is there a sticky note on this somewhere that helps on which place to shop at? I prefer NOS, th...

Re: Disc brakes

hoping on this thread.... I was leaning more towards the RMB setup until I started learning more about my Pie Wagon. Seems my grandfather cobbled many years of parts ranging from 1910 - 1928, so the "all orginal" part is out the window. Most of the changes he made I agree with. I do prefer the look ...

Tried it this evening with the left hand/arm... since I"m new to this it should be a quick and easy adjustment for me. Showed my uncle the video, he turns 96 tomorrow and was very impressed, excited and proud to see her running again. Gotta start my parts list tomorrow.. Appreciate all the comments!

Re: Ben's Model-T Pie Wagon [1911-1925]

Appear to be some type of engine compartments pans & a set of '26 - '27 hood shelves. Nice rig, by the way ! Thanks for that info... I will set these aside for now, this was driving me crazing trying to figure out how/where they mounted. 1912 was basically the only model year in which Ford offered ...

Re: Ben's Model-T Pie Wagon [1911-1925]

here's something I am curious about... in the back of the pie wagon are a few parts (black metal pieces) that I am unsure where they go to. Looks like maybe they go under the cab or in the engine compartment? Or maybe they dont go anywhere are are for some other vehicle? anyone know something about ...

reserving this for some photos In the meantime, here is a walk around I took a couple weekends ago. Just washed the dust off her. https://youtu.be/nywJRSV3TEY As I am quickly learning, this isn't a "true" 1911 Model-T. I seem to have a frankenstien Model-T that my grandfather modified over time. So ...

Request: New section for builds

Hello All, I'm new the forum (as of last week).... I plan on being fairly active on this forum as I sponge off everyone for knowledge. I am curious if a new section could be created to host a member's build(s) as a personalized thread? (Ex: Ben's Frankenstein Model-T Pie Wagon [1911-1925]) I will be...

Re: What year is this body?

That it does (the title)… I had to get the sheriff’s office out here to do the vin verification and horseless carriage paperwork documented. They sent out a volunteer from the sheriffs department and they were more interested that it didn’t have doors or airbags…etc. They recorded the engine number ...

Re: What year is this body?

Welcome Ben. That is a lovely old car. I like the commercial vehicles. They are so much more interesting. Pie waggon is a good description for your car. It is not a genuine Ford delivery vehicle, but there were many variations offered by multiple companies over the years, and custom one off builds ...

Re: New Member welcome area/page?

Hi Ben, That is a very nice specimen although it may not be totally correct it has the memory of your grandfather in it. I would think that keeping it as it is would be a tribute to him. I also think that he had a reason for what he chose when building it. Leave it as he built it & keep his memory ...

What year is this body?

This is my model-T, its been in the family since the 70's. My grandfather was the President of the Shreveport, LA "Antique Car Club" and this was his primary vehicle for a while. It ran in the Holiday in Dixie Parade and some other parades for the local Shriners club too. I have inherited it and loo...
