Re: My 24 TT project (Hello all!)

Does the stainless tank have metric threads? I'd guess your fitment problems are related to the tank, not the T parts. The sediment bulb screws in just fine, so it's not likely a metric/ standard problem. Unless of course, there's a thread pitch that's close to interchangeable with the bulbs NPT th...

Re: My 24 TT project (Hello all!)

Well, one step forward, two steps back, as such things go. My original gas tank bands are too small for the stainless tank. I reckon I can splice a small band extension in easily enough.. On top of that, the new made gas cap from Langs is slightly oversized, and as of right now, I'm uncertain as to ...

Re: I have a couple Dumb questions

Ok , going to sound dumb here , I’ve just replaced all the wiring in my 26 roadster pickup project, I think my starter is bad as I have made a good clean ground and also ran an addition ground wire from the mounting bolt on the starter directly to the battery . Engine barely tunes and ground is sup...

Re: What have you done to/with your Model T in November

Made a float pin for a 1911 Holley. Lost the original on the road but had another for a pattern. 20251118_153155.jpg Shiny! I've continued to accumulate additional parts for my build. Pretty soon, I'll be working on wiring. Unfortunately, it's a bit too chilly for painting the rims and other hardwa...

I really liked that hood with the advertising on it.

It's available to a new home if you're interested. I'm building the truck as a personal vehicle, rather than a "work" truck. So the old work clothes clashed.

Re: My 24 TT project (Hello all!)

Courtesy of Varmint here on the forums, I now have a fuel sediment bulb! By my untrained and amateur eye, I suspect it'll clean up nicely. PXL_20251119_011718064.jpg My collection of reference material is slowly growing as well. Picked up an original 1927 owners manual off marketplace locally. PXL_2...

Re: Never thought I’d get scammed

Just dodged a bullet. I'd been looking at purchasing a newsboy cap, similar to those seen in period photos. Along came a very nice looking video of Henry's caps. It's the story of Henry who hand made these types of caps for 50 years but is not retiring and having an 80 percent sale, everything must...

Re: My 24 TT project (Hello all!)

Good news, I picked up a hood and stainless steel tank from a fellow in Vermont. The hood will require a bit of tin knocking to fit, and one minor hinge weld, but should prove satisfactory. Looking good. How's the weather? Can you still tour this time of year? I live in the San Diego area so we can tour just about any month of the year.
Norm
It's actively snowing at the moment, touring is strictly limited to those who have track conversion kits for their Ts!

Re: My 24 TT project (Hello all!)

Michael, Great looking start on a TT! Suggest you look into how close a local Model T Ford club is. See the links at: https://www.mtfca.com/chapters/#me and also https://modelt.org/chapter-directory Sometimes depending on how close you are to another state the one in the nearby state may be closer....

Re: My 24 TT project (Hello all!)

A KC Warford + the Ruxtell will give you all the speed(s) you'd want in a TT, and a gear for most any situation. I was under the impression that the worm gear would be the limiting factor when it came to speed? An accessory overdrive wouldn't remove that particular bottleneck, because it's on the w...

Re: '27 headlight rope seal

Ant thoughts about a bit of anti-size on the retainer positions headlight and/or reflector I would think it unnecessary. Those locking points aren't under serious compression, like the threads of a nut and bolt. Now, a thin bit of grease around the outside of that area might help mitigate any stick...

Just don't junk the Ruckstell, those for TT's are not easy to come by.
Not a worry, it'll get a good cleaning and greasing before going into cold storage. I'm loathe to discard anything casually that still has some use.

I recently encountered, and fell victim to a scammer on a public auction site. It's remarkable just how much work people will put into avoiding an honest days work at the expense of others.

I just finished a '25 TT in October. Picture is at a late October cruise night in Pleasant Hill, MO. That was its first journey out of...

Re: Is this the right time to buy a Model T?

Honestly, I'm a new T guy, and I feel like the overall cost barrier on getting started is ridiculously low compared to other classic cars. I bought my project chassis for $1,500, and have probably spent $2,000 on additional parts getting it to the point where it'll be ready to start up. Some tires, ...

My 24 TT project (Hello all!)

Hello all! New member here, working on rebuilding a 24-25(?) TT I procured up here in Maine, and have been slowly piecing it together ever since. PXL_20241120_210440077.jpg So far, the old girls been pretty cooperative, and has shown no issues in the course of my inspection and repairs (save for the...
