I would leave it alone.

It looks like there is wrapping tape under the read coating. If it's original, there is a good chance that it is cotton. It will be almost impossible to get it clean enough to get anything to stick to it since its been soaked in oil for many many years.

I agree with the others.

It will have an effect on the final torque value. However, if you place the extension 90 degrees to the head of the torque wrench it will not influence the final toque value.

It’s tough to beat the design of the Ford sediment bowl. It gives you the ability to shut the fuel off, filter out dirt, drain any water or sediment, and drain the tank all in one.

What use it to divert the exhaust straight out?

Because it just sounds plain cool!

Any local vinyl graphics shop or sign shop should be able to print up one for a reasonable price if you can’t find what you are looking for.

Out of all of the broken cranks you forensically inspected, what do you feel was the most common cause of the failures?

I have also experienced great success with the newest style of reproduction New Day timer offered by the T parts vendors.

I’ve been running one on my speedster for several years and have only noticed some minor wear and requiring very little maintenance.

In the two T’s I have that are crank start only, I use a small 12 volt, 12 ah sealed lead acid battery. They are usually around $25 on Amazon. I use them for running the could during startup and to run my turn signals. I normally only recharge them a few times a year and replace them every few years.

I always lean on the side of caution when it comes to wheels. I’d say rebuild the wheel with new spokes. It’s definitely camshaft gear backlash you are hearing. Like Mark said it’s caused by the valve springs putting pressure on the tappets when they pass over the cam lobe.
