Yes it is very interesting. The magnets holding the pins is why I always install one of Dan M’s rings on a flywheel that I remove the magnets off of for a customer. I have not ever seen seen a pin back out, have heard of them. I also only install pins with the shoulders now for same reason.

The 41 cast on side is most likely a mold number and not a date. I would bet all engines sold after 27 were not cast just before they shipped, but were left over engines. Here is link to one of many threads on pins.. look down to ,I think the Feb 7 post and you will see a picture of the Ford drawing of triple gear pin. You will see shoulder. Most repro pins do not have the shoulder on them that Ford put there. The shoulder kepts the pin from coming out the gear side of flywheel.
Have not seen this happen but have heard of it.

I would like to hear from our Canadian members about the 88 rims carriers. I think 88 rims were used more up there than in the States.
Although, I did get 4 NOS 88 rims out of a Ford dealership in TN that closed in 29.

If I remember right, the full circle carriers I seen had a notch in them for the tab on Kelsey 88 rims.
I had a 23 unrestored touring with one and it had 88 rim wheels on it.

You will not find many T parts at regular swap meets. Only at big ones like Hershey or at Pre War meets. There are very few pre war meets and most are only 1/2 day to 1 day meets.
Luray is one of few that is more than one day.

You need to remove the lock washers that are there. They do not belong there.
Read Par 127 in Ford Service manual. It tells how to assemble and adjust fan to engine.

I maybe mistaken, but I think none of that type used a nut. Need to check service bulletins and or Ford service manuals.
That was so when adjusting belt you would loosen the bolt a little, adjust belt, then tighten bolt back without having to remove the pin or a nut. Dan

What happened is the fan shaft broke after the fan hit the radiator.
Look at your bolt holding the fan bracket to engine. Looks like no split pin the stop it from rotating.
This is most important to install. Cost a friend a 15 brass radiator.

Let ups box it, it is cheaper. Every time I try boxing one my self it ends up costing more in shipping charges then if they box it.

Look for the guy that put the oil cooler on the 460 in motor homes. That looks like someone’s after thought. Short hose , bigger round that long with no space to install it.
Maybe same guy did bypass hose on 390 too.

I have had that done. Problem is finding someone with a grinder big enough to do it. My guy closed his shop.
Last one he did for me was $450.00.

Guys: Have not looked this up in old parts book, but is this a replacement guide for open valve engine? My 2 open valve engines look to have bronze guides, but they may have been changed. Or these just replacements for all T engines. I am sure there must be something in the Ford Service Bulletins ab...

Donnie: I would not worry about the launch site itself. I would worry more about what it would attract from USSR or China.

I have rebuilt hundreds of mag coils and never saw anything that looked like friction tape on an original Ford coil. Only 1/2” cotton coil wrap tape. Dan

Here is link for tape for coil wrapping. Find a motor rewind shop close by and ask them. They should be able to dip your coil.

Plug is there. R24 bearing. I was wondering about a oil slinger in front of bearing.
Most likely just a cheap a$$ sealed bearing.

Ball bearing 4th main

Guys I need help. Engine with the ball bearing 4th main, type that you must turn down shaft leaking out bearing. Brand new double sealed bearing, new to trans driven plate turned to bearing ID with brake drum. Oil is coming out the bearing not around it or by shaft. Does anyone have a better bearing...
