Re: Model T Engine Stand

I believe, regardless of it's age or when it was used, it is driven by a flat belt, and the lever in a couple of the pictures activates a clutch to slowly transfer the spinning power created by the belt into energy to turn the engine from the back end; that square stub-shaft probably fits a T engine...

The picture shows the timer when the spark lever is fully retarded. I can't seem to get another picture loaded, but it is of the timer when the spark is fully advanced; it's rubbing the belt. Currently, the engine will run roughly on battery, but getting it started is a chore with frequent backfires...

Steve;

We have to leave Thursday, mid- morning.

Are none of the crews expected earlier than Saturday?

New York to Seattle Arrival

I'm currently in Seattle for a few days and would like to be there when the New York - Seattle crews arrive.

When is their eta, and where in Seattle?

Thanks.

Petit Jean?

I was planning on coming over to Petit Jean on the 13th, but wanted to ask if anyone knows whether or not the meet will even be held.

I've been watching the flooding on TV, and I do hope the meet is "on".

Anyone know?

High Temperature RTV; which one??

This picture was posted in an earlier topic. I have some pitting on my block, and I want to get some of the High Temperature RTV that's mentioned in the post where this picture was.

What High Temp RTV should I get? If you have a picture of the tube, please post it.

Thanks.

Frame Dimensions

I had, but have misplaced, a copy of the frame's dimensions.

The one I had was of an earlier frame, like an '11 - '12, and it may have been drawn by John Regan.

If anyone has this drawing, please post here or e-mail it to me at bill.everett@epickett.com

Thanks.

Rebuilding a Ruckstell?

Does anyone rebuild Ruckstell's on a professional, paid basis?

I bought this unit last year and cannot seem to find the time to rebuild it.

If there is anyone who does this, please let me know.

OR....

If not a full-time rebuilder, but you know how, please contact me.

Thank.s

Suggestions On How To Get This Out, Please!

1911 Touring...Gas tank needs to come out for cleaning or replacement. There are screw heads not easily seen in this picture all over the seat area. I'm hoping that I can remove some of them and this will make room for the tank to come straight out. If this is possible, please let me know which scre...

Anything Modern To Help??

Instead of using the spoons, I'm wondering if anything in the modern tire world would remove these tires from these rims without damaging either one.

Let me know of anything I should look for, or ask at a tire shop.

Thanks.
