So I see a few issues... scraping on the felt cap, scraping on the bolt heads, pins are gone. My question is, is this all a result of the thrust washers being shot ?

So when I yank on the rear wheels I have about a quarter inch play on the right side and eighth inch on the left side... I guess I found my problem... now I need to decide if I want to tackle it myself or pay someone to rebuild my rear end..I consider my self a pretty good shade tree mechanic LOL......

Re: Rubbing noise???
It's not a steering issue...it feels like the rear binds, and makes a awful grinding/scraping noise..turning to the left releases then I'm good to go.. I can drive for an hour and no problem till I make a hard slow right turn.. some day I'll figure out how to make a YouTube video..

Re: Oil change ?
Ok... thanks. I think I'm going to drain the oil and slosh some kerosene around in there see if I can clean my motor out. Maybe the oil won't get dirty so fast..

Re: Need a local mechanic
I dont have a filter... and gas flows freely to the carburetor..I think I'm losing prime because after it shuts down the motor is not primed, I need to choke it again to prime it to get it to fire.. I'm 90 %sure it the carburetor and maybe the fuel level.. I'm I thinking correctly ?

Re: Holley vaporizer adjustment
Your right... my old thicker float was cracked.. the venders dont sell the float for the vaporizer, I was told from langs it would work.. I guess I'll take your advice and lower the level and see what happens.

Holley vaporizer adjustment
Does that look like the right float adjustment for my holley vaporizer ? I am having trouble running out the prime, so I thought I should check the fuel level in my carb..

Re: Problems finding neutral ??
Ok thanks.. I did get some good advice and suggestions, I appreciate it. I think I might hang on till spring and see what happens..if I'm not satisfied with the way it works I might try the kerosene as a cleaner.

Re: It's time to STOP RESTORING, and START PRESERVING the remaining good original cars that are left...
Nice... my thought finally confirmed.. I found this in a barn about 6 month ago. I have been casually looking for this car or one like it for 30 years.. I plan on repairing it to make it dependable but not restoring it. Especially not the paint. I like it as-is
