Would be pretty simple to make a mold using your can's male threads and cast them out of brass or aluminum. Youtube has great simple videos. Don't over think it thinking you are going to find something modern that is going to fit a non standard thread, this was way before SAE standards.

Machine the bottom of the shaft as others have stated...., done bunches over the years. Anything else is asking for a dangerous situation in the hands of those with limited skills. The shaft/flange attachment is where all the torque is located.

Exhaust pipes etc do not run hot on low grade fuel, up the octane, compression ratio, overhead valve....., you are creating heat or power (typical KW conversion). The coolant temp does not raise. Look how your modern car creates power.

Wrapping the exhaust pipe will only cause them to rot out at a very fast rate as it makes them sweat with condensation from the outside. 4,000 degree Rockwool in-between is just an added bonus. Re: Firewall Brass Trim (Flat)
Larry is correct..., the rounded trim is actual for boats. I have to make it on a sheet metal brake in the past or use a power roller with 3/4" flat dies..., works either way.

All what is left for the windshield is upper and lower channels with retainers/cut and polish the glass. Started the pull back pleated seat wrap for back and cushions.

Re: Helping a Friend with a Promise
So after all the rough in with a rasp file, I come back with a conventional double bastard and then down to a single bastard file. Then I start with 80 grit, 120 grit, 240 grit, 320 grit all dry. As you can see depending on the cloth wheel weave and jewelers rouge used will determine your sheen. We ...

Re: Helping a Friend with a Promise
The key in a good job is quality material, T6061 billet, good files and rasp. When ever you are working any soft material use canners wax by means of rubbing your file. They never plug and clean up easy. Watch your pressure when cutting on the strokes. I use lay out dye for a good contrast. IMG_5749...

Re: Helping a Friend with a Promise
Well finally finished up the truing of the billet on a vertical belt sander using 40 grit. I drill completely thru the stanchions and then TIG up the holes for a full depth thread.., old school. Now making windshield/wind-wing templets and setting the style as we agree on the final design. Next will...

Geez Folks easy fix to all of this...., A Country Boy will survive! Get 50 pounds of potatoes, 1 pound of zinc galvanized nails 2" long, cut #12 gauge solid copper wire into 2" lengths, and a spool of 12 gauge strained copper wire. Now start making series/parallel circuits and you just made a potato...

Re: Members Only Forum
As the wheel of economics and social interaction runs its coarse, we fail to realize that a few pay the dues and others benefit for free. With that said, not putting anyone down, we will run out of those paid members that contribute the funds and then the dues increase. Sounds familiar as this is ho...

Re: What if your timing is at 7.5% instead of 15%?
I have always set timing by a vacuum to optimize fuel efficiency. Simple with a vacuum port, set to the highest HG psi and back off 1 psi at idle. What ever is your octane level you just hit the sweet spot. If you ever wonder why some T intakes have a drilled port...., now you know. Science does not...
