Keith could have been added years later as an extra precaution of a brush conductor getting too close. Just make sure all exposed conductors have good clearances.

Hard starts other than lack of fuel, valves leaking or improper clearances, weak magneto output, bad electrical connections to include ignition switch. As dumb as this one sounds, check to ensure it is grounded well to include chassis to engine.

Sometimes a very sharp cold chisel with a heavy strike in two locations a 180 degrees out causes a crack and they just fall off. Wear safety glasses and gloves!

Scott Best way of repair on those is brazing. MIG welding will cause crystallization fractures and in a short time will fatigue and be left on the side of the road.

You pretty much have to machine your own to fit the application. If your main bolts are worn, get new ones from vendors and start from there.

This is a little more than a double edge sword. First a Model T really was not built for endurance, second reliability is so, so, but better than most. You have to consider in the day, parts for them where available at just about every general store, gas station, or a dead one in a ranchers field. P...
