Thanks Mike for the meter and oscilloscope explanations. I hope that those who severely criticized me in December 2021 for suggesting that there are other means of properly setting coil have read this. There are other means just not as easy to use as the HCCT.

Google Mapped Mission Inn in Riverside CA and drove the streets. I referenced the top of the Inn from N,S E and W for possible matches. The Main St photo shoes a Church tower over the top. In the 1915 parts catalog headlights are not listed, there are also references in documents where equipped with headlights, this would infer that you could order a car with out headlights. It would be most difficult to provide a copy of an order for same. If you read enough literature and documents there are several mentions of if so equipped...

About the 1 gap: The shell height is 1 inch short, should be 22 why? One of the nickle shells I have was from a Hot Rodder who cut the bottom ears off and made new ears by bending the bottom sides. So you may have a similar issue. What I'm planning to do is fabricate a small extension using some stainless steel sheet that I got from a Hobby shop....

I am not familiar with floating ball bearings. It most require some modifications.

Do they float in the axial direction or float in the aligning direction.

Steve's design is correct, the original rod in my '26 coupe is made the same way, just with functional threads all the way up to the head b/c the '26 coupe firewall bracket is thinner. My coupe also has a lock nut on the radiator end, which prevents the rod from vibrating and wallowing the threads in the radiator socket. FWIW, jb

Absolutely, so long as the fabric is correct width for original roller. Fabric is stapled to wood roller, make sure you get it absolutely square & straight. jb

Flux was also sometimes applied by waxy-like sticks with similar application difficulties. All of those methods resulted in excess flux being splattered all around the work area.

Sure was done that way! Note the worker on the right as he smears flux on the parts, the hole in the forging holds the brass wire that is melted to braze the joint....

I mix a quart at a time. I thin it just a tiny bit so it soaks into the open grain of the wood nicely so the high build primer doesn’t soak in as much. It is compatible with the primer so that is the way I do it.

You are on the right way.
I use paint stripper heat air gun, but pay attention not to burn the wood and take your time to open the box one piece at the time.

If some of the panels like to stay togheter just leave them. You just need to take out the coils and work inside the box.

I have or had(will check) a canadian housing. It has the drain plug. Appears to be original. Casting boss is different. Other features are different. Clearly cast from different molds.

Would agree, keep to .040 for best results.

Also, have never placed a head gasket dry. Have always use good sealer, Permatex Copper gasket sealant, or quality alum spray paint with lots of metallic content, on both sides of the head gasket. No failures using good torque sequence too.

This is how I repair the steel transmission drum bands
All that’s needed is rear brake drum. Two can be used, stacked on top of each other, when working on the wide brake drum but I don’t find the need often.

Trouble is with those re-pop horn bulb brackets, they're so small and flimsy at the attachment point you can repair all you want and they still will break. #9 Photograph - Went to Google Maps Street View in Cazenovia, Wisconsin, and found the THE building on the R/H side of the pic. It has distinctive alternating color brick work on the front corners of the building.
