I want to strip these wheels of “whatever” the previous owner covered them with but I do not want to apply a chemical etc that will absorb into the wood and therefore cause problems with paint adhesion later. I also do not want to physically damage the wood by sandblasting.

I am selling these 1920’s diagnostic meters on eBay. Can anyone tell me how these testers work? A Hoyt Magneto Tester and a KRW Generator Tester. I assume the the engine must be running before the magneto and generator can be tested. Where would the leads be connected to? Is there a plus (+) contact and a negative (-) contact or does it matter?...

Is there a way to test a cutout with a multimeter? I have a couple and do not know if they are any good. Have a friend that needs one and they appear to all be back ordered. Might have to ground his generator and run on battery.

I have a ‘26 Ford Model T coupe and am interested in installing a temp gage inside the car with the sending unit inserted in the return radiator hose. Has anyone done this and what was the resulting benefit?

I plan on building a pie wagon on a 24 chassis. I have researched this site and the internet and have a good idea on how to proceed. However I am asking if anyone has a pie wagon or has any photos of the interior I would appreciate corresponding with them as there are some construction details I am not sure on.

Does anybody know which part number go to which set of nuts? There is no description of where those two part numbers go....other than a rather muddy picture of no particular scale.

So I'm trying to fit some wood in place and I see that I have to take off the big nut and top Iron support stud.

Later style 4 pinion differential. The addition of the extra two axis for the pinions made for a total redesign of the housing. Outwardly it looks pretty much the same, but in actuality has a thicker flange and the short screws are splined. The only thing I'd not sure of is if there were cotter pins on the nut side or lock wire like on the worm...

I’m in help of a little help. I’m checking the shims on my 27 Model T and was replacing the cap and oil dipper, when one of the nuts stated to just spin on the bolt. It will not go on or come off.?
The bolt is not turning.
Has anyone experienced this problem and if so, how do I remove it.

How much fore and aft slack is allowable in a 26-27 Model T generator? The gear seems to be tight on the shaft and the generator works normally, but I can move the shaft back and forth about 3/32 .

I had a really loose spoke wheel on my 23 Depot hack.
Today I watched the DVD on how to tighten it and followed the guide. I drove metal strapping between the spokes at the hub on all but the joins over the holes. I also drove strapping around the hub to push spokes outward.
Seems to have tightened the wheel up perfect but after refitting it and...

These lamps are tricky.

I wanted to reassemble this one that had the font forcibly removed without lining the 4 tabs up. The hole was no longer round. I cut some maple to fit the curve of the base for the font. Then by using the curved latch plate as a form I could hammer the lip back into shape.

I’m curious....how many miles do you drive between oil changes? I usually change before I hit 1000 but with today’s modern oils am I being conservative?

Anyone know how to find out what year my T motor is... 2980125 is the number stamped on the block... it does have a 1 in front of the numbers but to me it looks like it was stamped on later as it is barely imprinted into the block and I have heard that sometimes a mechanic would add a number when working on them back in the day... the T was sold...

I plan to re-babbitt some camshaft bearings for my next projects. I have a nice jig to pour the babbitt and tool to create a nice round OD on the cast halves.
Now I have ran out of stock on bearing halves that are long enough to satifsy the overall length (end thrust) requirements.
For the next batch I will need to create the new thrust surface...

What is the difference between a cut-out and a voltage regular for generators?

Next question about our 22 Touring. It doesn’t seem like it gets up to more than about 10 mph in low gear, and then wants to bog down when shifting to high. Could the band on low gear be the problem - either too tight or not tight enough ? Is this a two pronged issue? TIA.

T gen motors when attaching pos lead to gen terminal and neg lead to housing. New fun products third brush plate and regulator cutout and no charge. Even ran a jumper across the cutout and still no charge. suggestions?
