My understanding is the '26-7 models were supplied with a brass key, as opposed to the nickel keys used earlier.

On my '14, since the rivets were sound and there were no housing cracks, I left them alone and just mig'd over the inside of them. It's been almost 20 years and still no leaks from any of the rivets. There were other areas that required sealing during the restoration but that's a story for another time.

They have been a wonder. I chose these for my 14 as a safety improvement over wood fellows & not wanting to go to wires.

Your switch looks like this one with the clips...even though the one below it is a 26-27 switch, all plate switches work exactly the same and are wired the same too (with the exception of that green ground wire, that's not really on any of them).

Speed depends on road conditions. I don't use it to go faster unless on very good surface with plenty of sight distance. Mostly use is to lower RPM for any given speed. My car does cruise well at about 40 mph on a good road (clocked by another car) whether in overdrive or not. I don't...

I made some prototype mounts out of a 12x2. It looks good, the sediment bulb valve works. I may remake them in hardwood. I sank some 6 inch long decking screws through the base on either side to make the mounts split resistant. John Tannehill suggested bicycle inner tubes to protect the straps and the tank from the wood. We will see...

Period Parts books, rear axle 31-1/16 . A wide track front axle would put the front wheel about 1/2 it's tyre width out side a standard fender.

The fender itself may be slightly warped to one side. I had a good pair I had bought for my 21 Touring and after painting them before final assembly I noticed the right one slightly warped. I slightly bent it downward and it’s pretty close now. I should have caught it early before painting. I guess I should have looked closely first.

My, non professional, machining experience would lead me to a relatively simple broaching process.
The broach would need a fair amount of relief behind the cutting edges.
The OD on the part body would be much heavier to prevent splitting during the cutting press & OD thinned last.

It is on! You do have to back out the U brackets all the way to get them on. Getting the cotters off, backing the U's off and putting them back on was work but the cool factor of the tire carrier is off the charts. Lang's is out of the lower stud so I am using a rim bolt temporarily.

I’ve always had great service from Snyder’s also but FedEx dropped the ball on a order this last week. Kept my Snyder’s package for 5 days just 20 miles from my house. Everyday their site said on the truck for delivery and every night I get the “Delivery Exeption”. Of course I get no refund for my 2 day delivery charge…. :(

I agree with Pep. I made a tool to remove the drive shaft bushing from a MTFCA or Fordfix - looks functionally the same to pass around the rivets on the ball cap end. The description: length and a threaded pipe cap end would also follow as something to pound on

The Model A had a butt ground lifter but it also had an oil hole picking lubrication up from the lifter galley directing oil directly on the lobe. Adjustables do not have that design so they must lubricate the lobe through a radiused lifter.

If you know who the car was sold to contact any of his friends or relatives that still may be there in the area. Maybe the local courthouse of DMV might have records that may have information. Other than that it’s guess work in the last known area where the car was located. If there is a old car or Model T club check with them. Someone in the area...

Yep... this is what I cautioned you about last year when you were seeking firewall brackets for an earlier firewall on a ‘26-‘27 frame. At that time I offered a correct earlier frame for $50. This steering column bracket quandary is an example of T parts not being totally interchangeable.

We could buy off-the-shelf 2 long bronze bushes to suit T model front and rear shackles. A set of those could be left just long enough for that shackle to work well. Good original forged shackles are likely better than the repops available. Yours may not even be for a Ford, but they are likely better than others you will find.

An interesting overhead no doubt... and have no idea what it is. The Roof 8 valve heads had 3 exhaust ports, and definitely had a water outlet in front. I suspect that the wad of paper towels stuffed between the rockers are plugging the upper water outlet...?

Yep thats a valve sring compesser. They make them in all sizes from Briggs & Straton to big truck. I prefer them to most made for model T's they give you more room to install the pin in the valve stem. You can add washers to the yoke if its to small for what you are working on (up to a point)

If you have a coilbox, all you need is available from the vendors, but I would go to one of the coil rebuilders for coils rather than buy new ones.

There are alternative timers available, mechanical ones like roller or Anderson flapper style, and electronic ones. Your choice, your expense.

Others will have other ideas.

After thinking a bit more I see one of the notches is the slot for the shaft that turns the wick up and down. In that case one of the tangs should be visible under that shaft when they are correctly aligned.
I'm glad you took the safe side. Too many of these fonts have been damaged and are missing. I believe prying on them was that culprit.

My wife and I went to see the museum 2 weeks ago. We enjoyed it a lot. We spent two nights in Richmond and saw many of the sights besides the museum. The housing architecture is interesting and old timy. The town was very prosperous in the late 18 to early 1900s and many factory buildings and mansions remain.
First time I had seen a 2 pedal 2lever...

We made it to Lansing about 5 pm. The model F ran great. I think about 4 cars ended up on the trouble trailer . Good weather. It’s 54 out now, it will be a cool start. Plan on leaving around 7:30. When it’s light enough.

Tom, you need two things, a wheel true and spokes in the wheels on which you can screw/unscrew the nipples. If you can loosen the nipples on the spokes, you may be able to true the wheels. Otherwise you are stuck with what you have.

My wheel true is a deep U shaped stand into which the wheels are fitted. I have a spare front T spindle and short...

You need to go to an automotive glass shop, like maybe Safelite. They have several locations serving Houston. Safety glass and auto glass are NOT the same thing.
