I’m installing the top bows on my 24 Touring for the first time…without any straps or anything tying them together…in preparation for the installation of the straps/pads/top.

I’m finding it to be near impossible to get the bows erected.

Should I tie them together first with some twine that mimics the length of the straps?

Was working on the rear axle today and dad and I were wondering if the casting numbers on the one half of the shell translate to a casting date. 7 - M - 14 shows clearly on one half above the part #. Just curious if July 1914 would be a translation, or is the set of numbers and letter have no significance.

These shelves are from a '27 Touring I picked up in Tallahassee. I can't find pictures anywhere of shelves from current suppliers that have the notch for the firewall/cowling bracket. The notch appears to be factory original. Can anyone tell me if these are correct? Thanks much.

A fellow volunteer at our local museum told me her 'family folklore' said that great-uncle Bill was Henry Ford's chauffeur. She doesn't have much detail, but he would likely been born 1870 to 1880 and emigrated to US, married an American and lived in Detroit. Be interesting to know if his name turns up anywhere.

Hi All,
I just finished restoring a cowl fuel tank and a sediment bowl, but when I screw in the bowl, it stops in the upside down position. This is after using teflon tape first, then trying thread sealer.
The threads seem good to me; I've cleaned them out with an angled pick. What are my options?
Should I use teflon tape, thread sealer, plumbers...

A couple of years ago, I rebuilt my Ruxtell rear axle using new hubs, axles, and keys from Langs. These parts were made to perfection, but fit together so well that now I cannot get the rear wheels off. I tried the screw-on puller in the photo, but it had no effect other than starting to damage the axle threads. No real harm done, but no joy...

While not a car top it is very similar.

So I have some thoughts after some observations with my e-brake cam position as it relates to the lever position @ various positions.

The last picture is the cam when my lever is set @ 12 O'clock or neutral, looks to be level @ 9 & 3, brake lining relaxed approx 10 1/2

The seal's neoprene ring (A) has to fit over the slightly larger #3050 cam gear lock nut (B). How do you get it over the nut without wrecking it? I'm sure several people here have done this.

The weather today reminded me of tours we held at Indian Springs near American Falls, ID. Starting in 1968 we continued them into the 80s and perhaps beyond. Though the photos are fuzzy they show the Ts that attended and I remember what fun the first several were.

Here s another new weird one. Today a T was stopped at a light behind another T. Back T engaged & moved forward into the front T with his foot still on the brake. We stopped for a look. Oddly, with the T stopped (parking brake on) Full brake petal engagement I can hear the tripple gears start to grumble. ???? That makes no sense.

I got a new vehicle and I need to know who sells the bumper stickers that say: My other car is a Model T Ford ? It is printed in blue ink and is about 11.5 long. It is not the one sold by Lang's and I don't see them in the MTFCA store. I think?? the last batch I got several years ago, were made by one of the MTFCA local groups.
