I was going through some of my old automotive books, and out of one of them, dropped a Illinois State Tax Stamp, for the above car, which was listed as a Model T Tudor. This would have been a 1919 car, going by the engine serial number dating records.
If someone has this car, and can send me a photocopy of the title (mutilated) I will happily...

Model T’s were often misidentified ‘sort of’ because of what someone thought they were this or that. I have a 24 Coupe that was misdated at inspection stations as a 25 because they look so much alike. I still have the inspectors receipts.
Other T’s from 17-22 open cars look alike except for some details.
And then there’s the Dr’s Coupe theory!...

In Canada there is only one kind of hockey. It is taken for granted that when you say hockey its played on ice. If anyone says ice hockey we know they're from away. It was good seeing you there. Wish we could have gotten to Richmond sooner, and enjoyed more socializing. We got a ton of rain in Cincy, that didn't let up until 10:00. We held up on loading the car on the trailer, thinking that 90% precip in Richmond had signaled a non-starter.

Thanks for posting the information on the rules of the Montana 500. The event rules are very detailed and very fair to the participants. From what I can determine everything must be reasonably stock except the camshaft and the crankshaft to flywheel location.

Not strictly Model T, but related - My 1912 Flanders engine has an open valvetrain. How much and how often do the folks with Model Ts with open valvetrains lube their valve stems? Do you use the same oil as what's in the sump, or something thicker, like 600W? Thanks! :)

Marvel Mystery oil in the gas tank will lube vale stems as well as/or a pint of engine oil in a full tank of gas.

I tried to replace mine years ago, the originals were hard as a rock and broken. I replaced the glass first then tried to install the seals with no luck, they may need to go in when the glass is installed. Does anyone have a copy of Rich Bauman's ac brake linkage instructions/pictures? Rich is sending me a set in the mail, however I was going to install my brakes tomorrow as I have a mini tour on Saturday. If someone has instructions, please email to me @ jyoung@aristotle.net.

Hi,
can someone give me the precise measurements of the front and rear original Ford spring cushions and also for the front and rear backrest springs. What I need is the outer measurments, as I have problems to make the new Snyders upholstery kit parts fit, especially on the front cushion.
Thanks
Last post
I was given the front seat section of a 1919 or 1920 touring. It looked like the upholstery had never been off. The back cushion was hung off the tack rail, there was a piece of upholstery card stock between it and the body, no other support. The bottom cushion is; 17-1/2 X 36-3/4 (44.45 X 93.345 CM). I am taking apart my original wheels. The spokes and felloes are too far gone to reuse. However, the (non demountable clinchers) rims are quite usable with sandblasting and perhaps a bit more work. I have three of the four hubs out (last one is real tight). I'm not sure how to further disassemble. I drilled out the bolts holding the hardware out,...

Thank you everyone. I managed to solve my issue.
There was an additional rivet through the each half felloe and one spoke on each end. Perhaps evidence of an early repair. I know now what to look for on my other wheels and should be able to do the same disassembly relatively smoothly.

Should I tie them together first with some twine that mimics the length of the straps?

There are/were two types of fibre gears. Tony's, being as old as it is, is likely to be a laminated fibre gear. Thought I would let anyone interested in the 30 x 3 1/2 Blockley Tires from Great Britain about my purchase experience. I ordered 4 of them about 3 weeks ago and got them all in today. The cost of the four tires was $864.79, shipping was $210.39 and the import duty was $45.01 for all four. Total $1,120.19 or a bit over $280 per tire delivered. I...

With the tires scheduled for delivery this afternoon... I thought I would break into the tubes and check em out
In comparison with a 4.50/21 tube I have laying around... these are twice as thick! The actual measured double material thickness is .250”. The 21” tube measures .125”
I dare not claim that this extra material is of additional value......

Does anyone know how to make the ECCT software full on the screen. The right hand side is cut off, and the mouse will not expand it. I have tried different screen resolutions and that doesn't help.

If your laptop has an external monitor port (probably VGA, maybe HDMI) then you can connect a monitor or perhaps your TV if it has a VGA or HDMI port. But you will need the appropriate data cable.

David, if that is a problem, it would probably be OK to leave the Blockley nut in place, fit a bridge washer and then run the second not up to hold it in place. Even the junk bridge wsahers without the ridge would work. The fitting would then be like normal.

The rods can be checked for bend and twist once you have them out. Still no need to pull the head, but probably easier if you don't have access to a hoist.

Should I use teflon tape, thread sealer, plumbers...

A couple of years ago, I rebuilt my Ruxtell rear axle using new hubs, axles, and keys from Langs. I once had a wheel I could not get off with either of the tools shown.
I ended up backing off the nut a couple of turns (so it was loose but not falling off) and then driving the car a little making tight turns both left and right.
That worked when nothing else would.

In the old days there were no driving schools or driving instructors. You went in to buy a car at the dealer and you were given a five minute instruction on how to drive and you were out the door and on your own from then on. Most often the problem was the nut behind the wheel and too proud to admit he or she was a fool so it was easier to blame...

Looking at your axle key. It appears in the photos, that end of the key, adjacent to the threads, is tapered. If that's true, then the key is installed upside down and backwards. The squared off end should be adjacent to the threads, and the tapered side should be facing down , to allow clearance for the shallowing of the keyway, as it approaches...

Should also smear a film of black oil resistant RTV around the outer rim of it prior to inserting. Holds it in place, and also
