14 and 15 radiators will interchange, but are not the same as Keith pointed out. A 15 radiator uses a radiator round tube bent to a slight V for the head light wire. Before you get started be sure an authenticate some of the versions that currently exist. There are many differences in the old photos of the original and the museum pieces. Seats, side lights, headlights, exhaust etc. Also there are pictures of #1 that could help as well

I understand that but the burr needs to knocked down also or it doesn’t have a flat surface for the edge of the small collar on the screw to seat against and seal. I deburred the threaded hole surface and snugged it down and all is fine. The burr was keeping it from seating 100%.

Looks like the castings may have never been buffed and polished except for the face. Take them off the car and give them a good buff and polish job. They may need more than just Rouge and a polish though. Some emery and a sewn wheel might be in order 1st.

Hi Terry : I have a Canadian '26 Coupe that has never been messed with .It was painted as a used car in 1965 without even removing the rear fenders. It still has the engine pans held on with square nuts and Made in Canada markings everywhere. If I can be of any help, don't hesitate. Cheers : Bruce

So I called Steve at Lang's (he is always helpful). He said I had the correct size key. He also suggested that I tap the key into the pinion slot. When i tried it before I was just pressing it in with my fingers. I also think you are correct when you say nothing fits perfect. Ha! I should know better (new pinion shaft, New key, and old spider)....

I used plywood for the 1919 on my car deck instead of using the wood slats as original. That was over 30 years ago as it was a piece of cabinet grade plywood. I’ll bet Ford would have used a single sheet of plywood if it was cheaper and readily available. Anyway it’s held up well.

Be sure to get a coil that is for points ignition, not for electronic ignition, as the Amperage of the coil for electronic ignition is too high and will fry the contact breaker points.
As you are using an old distributor i asume your car is still 6Volts, most 6Volt coils are not available for electronic ignitions.
If your car is 12 Volts be sure...

There's no guarantee that a wall present in 1925 is still there, and cemetery is just a guess, but if somebody wants to look up the street views for cemeteries around Highland Park, go for it. I have other things to do. :D

are you planning on putting a top access cover where the battery goes? My speedster doesn't have one(I didn't build car), so the battery is a pain to get to from underneath.

It aint that easy.

1) cutting the notches will allow one to slide a NON STARTER motor forward on the frame AFTER the F/W brackets are removed.
2) The drawing you provide does not accurately show the actual amount of firewall on the inside.
3) The F/W brackets dogleg inward over the top of the inner frame edge. The F/W mounting holes are in line...

Use lead free solder, makes a stronger joint.

I've always liked this song made popular by Whispering Jack Smith. The Model T isn't mentioned until it pops up at the end of the song as the punch line.

Most of the Michigan clubs remain steadfastly stuck in the last century, but a couple have a phone, email and/or a website.

The first photo is very nice. Which car would you take if offered? I would take the 1911 over the mustang. You can go to a Ford dealer and order a new mustang, but try to order a 1911 Torpedo. ( I did order a new mustang once, back in 1965)

Saw a pair of these mounts a coupla days ago:

It can be straightened with a press & lots of patience & thought.
A customer had a tire shop try to install new tires for him. They pretzelized one & gave up.
I didnt have an extra one to sell the guy. Nothing to loose. Straightening took over an hour to get right.
I started by getting the rim to lay flat, then tweeking it to round.

Looks like A310/AA310 in the catalog page. Described ass Propeller Shaft Grease Retainer Placer . Likely the A and AA prefix for for the Model vehicle

Agree. I think I will have to slope the front edge a little for the front fender. I think I am going to do the 3/4 inch thick. I re-measured and the interior of a running board to the edge is 3/4 inch and the wood blocks from Lang's are 3/4 inch. It is only the lip width that is 1 inch.

An interesting example of why the casting dates and all those odd letters and numbers scattered around the block (and heads and other complicated castings). Some designated molds, others designate patterns which are basically a mold to make the mold. Patterns and molds can only be effectively used so many times before they have to be replaced....
