You will notice the inner tube valve stem at the 7o'clock position is at 90 degrees to the rim and is pointing to the hub. 80 psi was required to stop the tyre from creeping on the rim.
100psi stops the rear tyres from creeping which I think is due to the braking forces. ....N.

Duey, it doesn’t hang persay. It has four support “rods” two on top and two on the bottom. The two on top slide into slots made between the top and bottom panel seams. Believe you said you still the car apart in some way. You probably already know but it sometimes can be tricky in getting the timer rod to not rub or drag on the lower radiator hose when adjusting it for easy function. Been there and done that before in adjusting the rod not realizing it’s a close fit before putting things back together.

Sorry I can't do the experiment. I was able to get it clean. The lacquer thinner has won out in this case. First I filled it up then went on a walk with my wife. I talked about the T and she listened, I think.

The generator voltage will only go to the higher rates I mentioned above when the battery is disconnected and the generators goes into its runaway unregulated mode. A loose charging circuit wire on the switch or ammeter would case this.

It should go all the way to the bottom. This shows my '22 but is about the same.

I don't believe there are any clearance guidelines or settings . I just ran mine tight enough to eliminate excessive movement being sure everything moved freely and that's it. I may be wrong, but it's been working fine for 18 years since had it apart.

Rich, I believe your 4 pronged split rivets are indeed tubular rivets. The setting tool splits the hollow and starts the 'legs' bending outwards. The legs will be random widths, random spaces and not necessarily 4 legged. Many brake linings are fixed to the shoes with similar rivets, but these are often shorter and bell out rather than split into...

Look at the terminal where the wires attach, now look inside and see how deep you have gone. The contact inside is only that thick.

IMHO the easiest way to align the wishbone ball is to loosen the nuts that clamp the front spring to the frame channel. With the spring loose it is easy to move the axle a small amount to where the ball aligns with the socket.

I set the float level to a little under 1/4 cleaned up the carb, then sealed the openings and applied some vacuum. It held pretty good, so the heater plate is not leaking. Another simple option would be to separate the lighting system from the 6volt system and connect it to a separate 12 volt battery. You can then get all the power to run lights at night - recharge it when you get home.

Using the stock hub as example: I found a thrust washer the same size as the brass bushing (OD/ID) and was thick enough to cover the shaft end and fit inside the fan shaft cap. The purpose is to prevent the bearing bushing from spinning. True Value hardware stores with those multiple part trays will have them.

I have a 1914-16 frame that had the opposite of a bulge - it apparently had been bumped in at one place on the side rail. I know a '14-16 frame is worth a bit more making it worthy of a repair if possible, but it was pretty easy to fix.

Try connecting the front and rear axles together with a ratchet strap. Tighten the strap and it should slip right in.

First telltale sign: graphite oil is very black, like used oil from a diesel.
And yes it will render your clutch allmost useless.
Good thing is you'll have a hard time finding it on the shelf of a auto parts store or service station ;)

Yes, we all install Tubes with good intentions and care but nobody really knows what’s going on inside the Tyre!
Who would check or even know how to check if the Tube is the correct size and not manufactured too large or small with

The clamp was loose, and there was an assortment of washers between the nuts and the lower clamp plate, and still lots of room between the pin hole and the castellations on the nuts.

I made a new rod for my '14 from solid. It's a mite heavy but it's straight and strong, and I don't have to worry about its being weakened by unseen rust from the inside out.
