The one I had was of an earlier frame, like an '11 - '12, and it may have been drawn by John Regan.

I checked a friends 26 TuDor last night and they have the 17-25 brake rods.

I finally decided on wood bands for my 1918 engine, which does NOT have detachable ears on the bands. I read some wonderful posts on drilling the countersunk holes, but one thing eludes me........assuming you drill from the outside of the band first, then finish drilling and countersink from the inside how in the world does the drill press spindle...

Has anyone put cork inserts in their bands before ?
My dad did and I was going to also. Wondering if the taper holds them in place, or should I put a dab of weatherstrip adhesive on the back side...

Replaced my steering shaft on '27 Touring. New shaft came with the two smaller steering gear pins already pressed into the spider. Any tips on how to get my new long oversteering pin into the spider? Is it ok to tap it with a rubber mallet? Press it in with a C-clamp? Pound it with a 50lb sledge? Any tips on keeping is straight during the install?...

How far in can you adjust the low Band before it's time to reline ?
I have 3-4 threads showing before the lock nut.
If I recall, I can go about even with the nut and the end of the threads, maybe a tad more. I just don't want to damage the drum, but get as much as I can and do them all. The brake and reverse have a little ways to go still... :?:...

I do not have any brakes when using the floor pedal. When I use the handbrake and pull it all the way back it does stop, but barely. Where do I adjust the floor pedal? Is it under the cover on the transmission, which is under the wooden floorboard?

My Anderson timer needs to be replaced due to wear. Was planning to replace it with a new Anderson timer. But was wondering if anyone could recommend a better timer.

I'm installing a new top on my early Canadian '13. It had a new top sometime in the past and the original top covering was still on the bows up until today. Because of the amount of tack holes in the wood needing plugging, I decided it was best to replace the front bow top material covering.

I get tired of the grease splatters on the engine and on the inside of the hood.
Does the fan still use the skinny front bushing, or is the other bushing simply omitted?

This is the first time I am building a rear axle. Apparently I need to rivet the brake cam lever to the hub brake cam. I have never done that and I am not sure how it is done. I'm getting ready to hang my rear axle and got to looking at the mechanical parking brake setup. This car hasn't run in over 30 years and I have been going thru everything that moves. I had to purchase brake rods as they didn't come with the car.

Looking at the attachment point connected to the lever, I estimate a movement of maybe 2.5 inches...

I assembled my transmission of many parts and discovered that the space between the drums is uneven. Could someone slide a feeler gauge between their drums and give me the measurement? Not really sure if corrective action needs to be taken yet, but it would be nice to have an idea of what it's supposed to be.

I have been looking at this picture thinking of making a model of this racer and wondering about this one part. Is it a deflector or shield for the exhaust, especially because of the right hand drive? I don't remember seeing it anywhere else

I own a 24 Fordor. I had the engine rebuilt 2 years ago and just installed it last week (health issues got in the way-mine not the car). The car starts and runs but the exhaust pipe turns cherry red quickly. I shut it down and looked up red exhaust here on the forum. I just did a compression test 42-45 pounds each cylinder EXCEPT #3. 20 pounds....

I ruined a modern cam/timing cover seal by trying to expand it by putting it between two pieces of wood in a vice.

Any other tips or tricks on making one of these a bit bigger so it fits more snug?

It even occurred to me to just leave it like it is and glue it in with RTV around the perimeter but I don't think it'll stay put.

I'm rebuilding the steering column for my 27 Roadster..new paint..bushings and spark & throttle rods. As you can see I can't get the Pitman on because the spark rod is to long ! It looks like I need to at least cut the rod up to the pin hole ?
