Friday was a good day.
I paid a visit to see Mr. Ray Wells who is working on the 1904 Model B Body.
Ray Wells was wiring new homes for cable in the 1960’s when he changed careers
and began making custom made office furniture for the San Diego market.
That led to a company that employed (11) people which he sold in the early 1980’s.

Being far from a mechanical expert, I am unsure what to do so my car runs better on battery. I am running a 1927 tudor with a Holley carburetor and an Atlas exhaust manifold - the same manifold that I have been using since I bought the car in 2006. The car has never been a strong runner on battery but now it is backfiring and has difficulty...

Ok... so I have a 26 that sat for about 40 years, transmission is tight. If I put the parking break on it is almost impossible to crank though I can turn it .I can start it by jacking up the rear wheels and then after it warms up a bit hit the brakes..seems high gear is tight / stuck.. I drive it around town a few miles then park it, next morning...

The car s/n is 102xxx and Patent plate ID tag is 94574.

While cleaning up the magneto magnets this evening, we found one cracked magnet, and with the lightest tap it broke. Looking in the catalogs, you can not purchase a single replacement magnet. Have any recommendations for a replacement? I was thinking of calling on Andy Loso.
Also is there any reason NOT to glass bead blast them?

Tony, yes this motor has a Bosch front plate distributor. So I did remove the magnets and put on slingers. At least when they come off the damage is minimal.

Well done, Donnie. Part of being a smart guy is knowing how/who to ask when you don't have the necessary information ready at hand on your own.
As far as not knowing how many favors you have left to use in the future, ask yourself how many favors you have done for others. I bet you're still on the strong positive side.

Tom, of course you are correct. My example was for a single item. That's rarely the way it works. As I recall, the original new tariffs were on steel and aluminum. Higher aluminum prices will make airplanes more expensive. More expensive airplanes will make ticket prices higher. Higher airplane prices are likely to encourage airlines to keep their...

Summer of '17. Ava (oldest of the 7 Grands) and I took off with the 24 down to the bottom of the hill.
She sure got the pedals figured out and I tested her the whole time hard. I had the throttle. She had to reverse and steer at the bottom, UP the hill backwards to head back out where we stopped for the pic. Must've done this 10 times!
She was 8...

I've spent a lot of time tidying up the wires on my 24 Touring and am wondering if there was anything that the factory did to prevent wires from chafing where they go through the firewall in the hole above the junction block. (see photo)
Last post
There can be. A lot of the under dash wire sets made some years back were made for sedans that required the longer loom and are too long for open cars. This is one of those one size fits all but were wrong.

One not too far away called Winks, I will get there this year, hopefully. So not totally OT.
Today I was close to this little burger stand called Bob's Hamburger. For $4.75 you get a real hot fresh burger that beats any of the fast food joints. ;)

English T Wrench? - King Dick
Replies: 7

First post
A question for any English members who can help: Is this an English T tool kit wrench - or an aftermarket item?
It would be uncommon for Ford to allow his brand on an aftermarket item though?
In New Zealand most Ts are Canadian and early ones US, so we usually have US and Canadian tools. I was intrigued by this one I found in a 'junk shop'...
Last post
Earlier British tool kits that I am familiar, MGTC, or Vintage Bentley, contain a King Dick slider of the earlier pattern.
I have a friend who has worked on more T's and A's than anyone else I know. I will now refer to him as King Dick Slider.

One of these days I will make it up to PA where a friend of mine has his other home. To get back on topic his neighbor is Livingoods's grandson if I remember correctly and has a fair bit of stuff (not for sale) at the house. If I ever get up there believe me I will get info and share it.

I am in the process of replacing the top on my ’13 T. It is an early ’13 with an engine casting date of 12/15/12. I have three different types of brass Murphy fasteners on the car. They are the figure 8 style, the oval cast base style and the oval pressed base style. The pictures below show the three different styles. Can any one tell me what is...

Actually, I have two very original restored '13s. Neither of them had Murphy fasteners. Both of them were plain, but exactly the same without the M in the circle.

Chris, was that cr for a giant or giant super? I believe the giant super was a little higher in cr. It has a minor crack in the water outlet jacket area. A good media blast, pin and stitch the jacket crack, and it should be good to go.
I'm not sure on the color, in m trying to decide myself.
Spark plugs threaded in fine too.

Hello,
I have a 1913 Ford Model T Touring. The engine serial # is C 11408. I've had a couple of different opinions regarding where the car and /or engine were manufactured and assembled. Can any of the experts out there shed some light on this or direct me to a reference? Thanks very much for your assistance.
Regards,
Dave Lewis

I would check the serial number it may be a poorly stamped B If it is a C ,it may be a Us car with a Canadian Block. My Sept 1912 an original car that was complete running driving car with original engine only has Ford on the block nothing removed the casting date is above the serial number ,the body was never apart original wood and there are no...

I had the spark plugs out so I stuck a magnet into a cylinder to see if I would pull up any metal dust. Of course I did and it was more than I expected.
After removing the head this is what I found.

There is a lot of soot and metal dust, plus some of the bolts are rusted, some oily.
