Interesting are the paint drips on the head and block.

I believe my T to have original paint and it has all sorts of drips in the old finish if you know where to look. However, seeing drips in engine paint is a first for me. (assuming this to be the original paint on the engine in this photo)

Bob Ore, owner of Qual Krom in Erie, PA, runs Qual Krom as part of his total restoration facility; so, as a restorer, he is particularly critical of details important to the restorer. He's done a lot of copper and nickel plating for me over the 30+ years that I've dealt with him. He's usually on the job at 3:00 AM 6 days a week! :shock:

Do you know if the E&J 466's have the same brass clad prop support like the 666's?

I would use the original layered ground strap. I think they were originally zinc plated. The Model A's used the same thing, but because an A has a positive ground, you would need those shims to make it work. Some of the newer cables have a P and a N on top meaning you can use them for either size cable. A long time ago I found a NOS ground strap...

Easy for you to say Tom. I post photos from my phone. That means working with a small touchpad for typing. Got photo posting down pat on the old forum, even with re-sizing. I've been at this stuff generally, since about 1975, and pretty heavily since 2004. Your truck is a first for me. I've seen a number of Smith Form-a-trucks, but not this thing. It is NEAT!. I suspect you will be schooling us on this as you learn, and not the other way around.

That happened to me, it was a stripped thread in the block, could not get the head bolt tight enough.
However, the head gasket didn't blow and i didn't lose compression. It ran just fine until the next valve grind where i put a home made helicoil thing in the hole and it survives just fine.

Don't sweat over it yet.

I believe the Judging Guidelines now state that the bayonet style can was used pretty much throughout the T era; the threaded spouts are Model A. The double script can was apparently the first style used, around 1912-13 or so.

The photo is pre-1917. I found several period photos of the Ekalaka State Bank and the building to the right of the bank didn't get an awning (with a power pole through it) until the 1917 photo.

I wish I could be of more help here, but when I restored my '25 about ten years ago, I had custom wire looms made to match the originals. I had no problems pushing the looms through the sleeve which I also bought separately. Since the battery cable is the same at both ends, I would install it last after having installed the wire loom.

I did use the copper gaskets. I lined up the clamps and tighten them and just got enough room for it to miss the frame.

One of my stock pan arms has an old weld repair, so I installed one of the aftermarket supports for extra insurance. :)

I find that I can get an improved finish if I take a second pass without touching the settings. Basically you are cutting a fine thread. If you take a second final pass you will knock off the tops off of the “threads.”
And the posts that recommend 12L14 (Ledloy) are right on the money.

Doesn't matter. Just find the form and procedures (in your state) to correct the VIN error. Unless the title application provides for VIN corrections you'll probably have to obtain a title issued by your state, in your name with same error before they can correct the mistake.
