The first swap meet at this location was a winner. Lots of good stuff there, great weather and lots of old friends. Spaces at this new venue are large and there is lots of room to grow. The property owner and organizers are committed to growth, looks like the future is good for this meet. Thanks to all who had a hand in this meet.

My son, son-in -law and I made the treck to Bakersfield, and we were all pleasantly suprised at the organization and size of the event. There were many vendors in the Pre-War Era swap spots, and the foot traffic was also very good. Also, there were many good parts and the prices were very fair. We are already planning to attend the swap meet next...

For various reasons, on my former depot hack now WWI ambulance project, I feel the need to move the gas tank a few inches towards the rear on the frame. More leg roomk more clearance under the steering wheel, etc. I'll need to drill another hole or three through my sub frame and through the top of the T frame, but that's all doable. Then, redo the...

I think some sedans actually had the tank under the back seat, so if the fuel level is kept up in the tank probably no problem. There is at least one thing I have experienced on one of my cars. Rich, your reference to the reach reminded me of such a load I witnessed some years ago. The truck: was a Datsun 180B sedan, with a roof rack. the load was a length of black poly drain pipe about 2' in diameter and some 30' long. The dolly at the back was a 6' x 4' trailer with a cage. I have demountable wheels and noticed about 1/4 of runout this evening while packing the wheel bearings. Initially I thought I would remove the lug bolts and rotate the rim 90 degrees at a time...

Apis, I don’t have an illustration of the variation of wheels but attached is an illustration of the rims & maker. I think, if memory serves me correctly, 3 of 5 may interchange 2 definitely do not.

Hello T-people
I'm in the process of rebuilding my Ruckstell axle. I had to align the Bronze Thrust Plate and rework it slightly. Now I can't find any information about a dimension (picture) that I would like to check.
Does anyone know this exact measurement when new and can help me?
Greetings from Switzerland

Mark that’s a good tip, I can’t find the thread but I believe it was Dan McEachern that gave the tip of putting a scoop on the ring gear support Bell Housing (P159) to increase lubrication into the differential housing. Dan please excuse me if that’s not correct it was years ago but it was really easy to do.

Not T-centric. In fact, I think I saw more Packards. There is a shot of the storefront on Bagley that replaced Ford’s home along with a photo of a twenties Coupe on the street.
It also reminded me of Mom telling me to catch the DSR bus. The trolleys were gone by the time I was born but they hung onto the “Street Railway” for many years.

Greetings,
I recently acquired a January 1915 centerdoor (and yes, it’s really Jan ‘15). The upholstery is pretty good original, but the window riser straps are salvageable scraps of cloth, the original leather pieces are completely missing. Is there anyone who could make me a new set, or, are there plans and specs available anywhere?
Thanks....

Have you checked the front bearing on the generator? It could be worn.
A problem I had with one of my T's was a ping ping at idle. No noise when going above idle. This was caused by the pin which goes through the crankshaft and pulley being loose and moving up and down at idle. When running above the idle the centrifugal force would keep it from...

A ferrule fitting creates a shear line. Compression rings are not a good fix. I have seen copper lines break off @ the ring edge. If using a steel line you may not shear the line, but I dont take the chance.

Source for C Cab TT FLOORBOARDS

Checking for a newly revived TT’s owner, does anyone make floor boards for the TT commercially. If not does anyone have any plans with location & measurements? The owner said he’s just about wasted an entire 4x8 sheet of plywood trying to get a good fit. I have to admit I did chuckle. Thanks in advance for your help.
Best John

Yes, I installed the 1924 cab on a 26-27 chassis, and lowered IMG_1235.jpeg IMG_1237.jpeg ] the roof so it will fit in a standard garage. All original running gear with some modern upgrades for safety & convenience. Tried to use up surplus T parts before they end up in the scrap heap.
The truck Henry Ford should have thought about producing.

26 - 27 Fender Matching

I'm hunting for a front left fender for a 1927 T and have been offered a fender from a 1926.
Anyone know if this will be a matching fender for the '27?
Many thanks,
Joe
Last post
Wow, I'm surprised that there are so many large and small differences between fenders. I'm going to get my 2 front fenders out and compare them with each other to see if they even match each other.
What a can of worms to sort through - or maybe just bolt on a replacement fender and call it close.....
Thanks for your feedback,
Joe

Hi All,
I have a 27 Tudor and I want to put the original little dash light back in. What do I connect the central wire to? It would be a positive point, as the negative/ground would be through the attachment on the dash itself. Thanks.
John

Steve at Lang's suggested connect to either side of ammeter, so I did that. Works fine, and can go on anytime, regardless of headlights

Identify This Brass Car?

As a volunteer for the Klamath County Museum who frequently drives one of their Model Ts in parades (Model T drivers are in short supply here) I am sometimes asked to identify automobiles in old photos. This one has me stumped. The plates are from 1912 and it looks to be a big car. Can anyone ID it?

The early Schacht automobiles were 2-cylinder with the engine behind the front seat. The car cranked from the back of the car and had springs like the curved dash Olds from the front axle to the rear axle. Most were high-wheelers with solid rubber tires. The 2-cylinder Schacht was friction drive like the Metz. The 4-cylinder Schacht pictured here...

Any international T production after 1927?

I was watching a program today about the last Model A's produced and apparently they still produced some A touring cars in Chile up until 1934 in addition to AAs. I was wondering if any of the overseas factories still produced Ts after 27 to use up the parts

I'm sure it would have happened, in the publication of Ford history in Australia, the announcement for the A Model a was May 26 1927 but production for the A did not start until 14 months later. It wouldn't be the first time of assembling run out models, it is documented that Ford Canada was still assembling 27 Model S and 1 Model C along side of...

Getting back after the roadster and mocking up the seat back and hip panels from Classtique. Is there a certain/preferred height, either above/even/below the top of the back of the seat bucket where the backrest should hang? Also, should there be some added padding to the hip panel armrest top?

I believe I’ve looked at that, referring to the burlap first layer! I think Classtique mentions that as well….in order for the batting to not fall down into the springs.

Could also fit a number of different makes of cars. This is one of those parts the builders bought from a general parts supplier not made inhouse.

Last time I spoke to John, it was a later style chassis - musta changed direction as he's been purchasing '26 - '27 parts from me !
It's a bitsa Hack Steve. Couple of guys locally over here are getting rid of T parts so I'm doing my part to help them!
The engine is a 1924 so we are calling the Hack a '24.

In that first picture, there is a foot over the door. How did she get her leg in that position?
And how does she shift the car like that? Is that someone laying down next to her with their leg over the door? It is hard to understand what was happening, but looks like she thought it was funny.

Some years ago (probably 7-8) I remagnetized my flywheel magnets in my pick-up T. It was done in-situ following the instructions given in the club's leaflet about the electrical system.
It has worked like a charm - until last summer where it quit working on magneto. The strength has weakend to an extent so a broken tooth from my gearbox break...

I charge my magnets individually and find that the polarity can be reversed without adverse affects. However, I often put the magnets through a demagnetizer first, but I don't know if it is necessary.
