Another option is the ammeter that Tractor Supply and other sources sell. The cost is $11.97 at Tractor Supply.

This gauge has 30 - 0 - 30 numbers and fits perfect in the 1926-27 panel. Si it lends itself to Ts with an alternator upgrade.

I just used an aircraft nibbler tool to make the adapter a litle larger inside and the gauge slid right in....

It could have been almost anything? Now a later brass era with earlier firewall and hood, or an earlier (1914ish) now with a later engine. Or a bunch of loose parts put together to be whatever?
The rear end appears to be 1915 or later, and most likely as a 1916 would be the most correct. Another possibility could be as a commercial chassis, some...

An update,
I have contacted a active TT owner who has a 1927 TT. He confirms that the bracket with the threaded boss is on his truck and the position is such that it is impossible to use a bolt ( that's why the Boss is threaded) and it sits so close to the generator a nut couldn't be placed on the end of a bolt, and as is obvious the bracket is...

When I remove those pins, I drill 3/4 of the way through, leaving a solid engine for the punch to drive on. Up your drill size until the hole just breaks through the side. Now you have a split rivet and only the last little bit to drive out.

Russ furstnow makes all the leather straps for T's. I got all them for my 14. They are super quality.
Nice & thick. Not flimsy as available thru some vendors. (Specifically the top saddle leathers)
He also provided the straps for my dual spare tire carrier.

I just upgraded a 1917 transmission, to a 1920 with a starter, that had a double mag coil ring and brass spools to support the magnets.

Wheter this was original or just a use of available earlier parts is a total unknown for me.

The hoses used in conjunction with the tube from the radiator to the inlet as made for a number of years, do not need to be as long as they are in my opinion and can interfere with the rod. They only need to be long enough to have clamping room on either side of the upset on the tube and castings.

Brackets are intended to hold parts that are already mated , not as a starting point to build from.

I’m not building anything. I’m just making sure my mounting holes are aligned. The car will be assembled in a specific order on its frame. I do not have anyplace to build a body on a flat floor, and then raise that body into place.

I absolutely agree, the brakes Larry was making (RIP, sir!) were first rate and worked. Ohio no longer requires front license plates. However, if there is a front plate displayed, it must match the rear plate. Never heard of anyone getting into trouble for non compliance.

Faux wood finish on Model T wheel hubs would never look right to me. The spokes were actually made of wood, while the hubs never were. I don't think a wooden hub that was of the same dimensions as the regular T hub could ever hold up in service.

That was the year the Dalgety bodied ones had smooth pedals.
I had to scratch around to find a set in my heap of bits when I was putting one together.

So sad, so many lately.
I didn't know Bruce well, but like so many in this hobby I did meet him several times. He was one of the wonderful people that contributed so very much to make this a great hobby for all of us!

Gaskets aren't that costly. You can order just the gaskets you need from Lang's. I would not order the set, they come with too many extras, but you can buy a set if you want without the head gasket. On my '27 touring car there is nothing attached to either running board support on the right side, and no extra holes in the supports on the right side. Any holes other then for the mounting brackets are on the driver's side front and rear.

That is probably the nicest hardware I have seen for that. Wagon manufacturing surely refined the art. This is a version from a past post:

Question is where on the timing cover the problem hole is.
Is there room for an insert? There isnt much meat available.

If you exerted enough force to break the ring gear trying to install it, I would be seriously concerned about having caused possible damage to the carrier. It needs to be thoroughly checked for fit and gear run-out, if the gear fits.

The true test may come when assembling the diff and checking the ring and pinion gear mesh.

When I rebuilt the Speedster body I built-in a small slot in the gas tank space behind the passenger seat. I put the registration, insurance card, and inspection sticker (NYS) in a zip-lock bag in the slot. Right next to my gas gauge ( :D ). Haven't been pulled over yet, but if I am, I'm ready!

Before I tried “Trueing” the tire by some machining method I would personally try remounting the tire by rotating it on the rim maybe a third of the rotation. Of course marking the rim before! If the problem has moved, then you are on the correct path. If not then it is a rim/wheel problem. I just like to eliminate the possibility of another...

It's possible the rubber hose that comes with the filter may have some additives leaching out and causing the filter to plug up.

I hope you’re able to form a local chapter. Being involved in a chapter can sometimes be work but is rewarding. While you have been enjoying your T, odds are there are others in your area that just need an excuse to get out there.

An unwanted - and probably unexpected - consequence of LED bulbs is that because they take very little current, the contacts in switches etc have to be very good, very clean. I have found that LED torches work very well when new, but after some months, they don't always come on, and you have to remove the batteries and clean the contacts. I expect...

I'm certainly not going to say that it isn't from 1919-1927 years, but my first thought was 1933-34 Ford V8. When Ford started offering an AM radio in 1933-34, as optional equipment, they used a regulator with radio equipped cars that wasn't round. I used to have a 34 four door sedan that had a center control AM radio that had a similar cutout....

The bear shaped tag in the upper left corner of the license plate indicates a 1916 registration. It was made of cast lead.

How does that puller push the axle gears ON enough to get the C clips out to start the pull? That is often the hardest part of the gear removal task.

To get the axle gear pushed down to get the C clip off, I stand the axle up (gear side up) on a block of wood (nut on the axle shaft to rest on the block of wood)....

Donnie Brown brought up a good point which I had overlooked, in that the pedals may well need rebending back to their original configuration both side to side and fore/aft.

Be sure to do this before cutting wood. I'd suggest your buying the pedal slot/covers that clinch to the wood before you do anything, and bend things so that they will...

I believe a 5 second zap is an extremely long time. It would serve to burn out any shorts on the mag coil but is a much longer application than the magnets really need

Look at it this way Mark: you cannot increase a circle's height without increasing it's width. A clincher tire with a taller sidewall will always be wider as well, and vice versa...make sense?

Nice 15! A lot of our members don’t have trailers so that might be further than some would go for a day tour.

I am glad no holes are drilled. It allows me to line everything up in its optimal position/alignment for my car. When it all fits, then drill. Do not force alignment by putting any of the components under stress. It will surely lead to cracking in the panels/brackets.

Did anyone mention if your engine is stock it would be a good ideab to use a 10 tooth pinion if you go with the Warford so you don't have too
high of a final drive in OD. Like Ronald said it will give you a good ratio if your touring below 35mph & OD will be good for the faster tours.

Gerrit - not mine, but I was surprised by the similar front axle to my ‘26 RPU. A little research showed a photo of Andre Citroen with Henry Ford at Highland Park. Interesting that Citroen 5CV had cowl fuel tank and more fully louvered hood sides in 1923 -changes the T wouldn’t have till 1926.

After you remove the cracked drive shaft sleeve and if the driveshaft itself isn’t cracked it would be a good time to use the repo pinion bearing set up.
It’s a definite improvement to use to upgrade the drive line. And it’s easier to use and install than the original drive shaft sleeve. MHO of course!
