Here is the mixture control in my '24 Speedster, same as shown by Oldav8or in the initial post. I have the info dial but an under-mount worked better on this dash.

Thanks for all the helpful information. Steve Tomaso was kind enough to offer me a set of NORS sill plates which I am purchasing. They are the skinny type with a checkerboard background and Ford logo

I got one and it's really slick..no more struggles. I took a suggestion from fellow forum poster Royce and lined the inside of it with electrical tape so rim won't be marred up up. I put a little grease on rim to facilitate attaching it. Great idea!

Go to my post of Jan 21/19 called Improved Open Car Surgery and Build. Scroll down to where I show the vertical straight edge. The forward edge of the front roof bow aligns perfectly with the hinge pins. These cars were designed on a graph with verticals, horizontals, and compass drawn arcs.

Loose or worn parts anywhere in the steering system can cause shimmy, wobble, tramp, and wander, as well as steeting wheel kick, excess noise, and rapid tire wear.

Bent or out of round or out of balance wheels/tires can also cause assorted problems.

There are enough original photos and surviving Canadian 1913 T's in Australia to prove that all manufacturers of lights were represented. E&J, both all brass and steel and brass,JNO Brown and Glasco. We even had English manufactured brass lamps installed as well.

This is a similar bracket for a Standard speedometer, probably mounted the same, I haven't found the rest of the hardware to complete my installation.

If you find a distributor for new correct hardware let me know, I too am working on a late Canadian car. It’s nice finding all the Made in Canada cast onto the parts. Pretty unique amongst T’s around here.

Several years ago I changed my 1924 touring to a dual voltage system. For the starter and horn, they remained on the 6 volt battery. The 6 volt current is much kinder to the bendix and ring gear. To charge the 6V battery I got a device from Fun Projects that takes the current from the magneto and sends it to the 6 volt battery.

Thanks to all for your comments. The Model T Winter Clinic in Kansas had a topic some time back about cams that Larry Young and Fred Huston put on. It was very informative. I'd heard of the 7 degree advance from my late friend, Bud Voth, probably 40 years ago. I can't say that I heard much about it in the Model T community until maybe 20 years ago...

Couldn't agree more. I installed Scott's valve and no longer have fuel flow issues when the tank is low or climbing hills.

What I have seen is that Dan had about 10 bands that he was putting on the linings and the levers that needed the hole drilled and finished. And the rights wasn't the right word to use, he just bought the plans for reproducing them

In this application, you can only make a pulley so small to speed up the alternator. Motor pulley is a fixed size.
Gear driven is fixed. You need to start with an alternator capable of sufficient charging within these fixed limits.
Claims are that the GM 1 wire unit will work.

The first photo (1915) shows a 1914 T from the wide crossmember and rivets in rear end.
The second would be 1909 or 1910 by the buggy rail and butterfly rear fender bracket. Lamps and acetylene generator still look OK.

Looking close at the picture I’m not seeing any kind of fencing for a Rodeo other that the cars in a big circle! I’m wondering if it was a Rodeo or if they were just working a few cattle. Maybe branding the livestock or just dehorning them. Whatever they were doing the cattle would have put some dents or get cut up running into the cars....

I once had a late 1925 block with the boss, but no holes were drilled for the bolts.

That's the type of block I have in my '25 Touring.

The consensus seems to be some time in the 1924 model year.

My January 1924 car came to me with the earlier style clamps, but I changed them over to the later style based on the preponderance of opinion. I still have the early clamps in storage in case the consensus changes. :)

Ah yes a Lloyd, they are not uncommon over here, 'zee Dzjermans' built quite a lot of those little cars in the late forties and fifties, they were about all one could afford to buy, and gas was still 'on stamps' after the war so small engines were the thing back then.

If it will fit in your garage with the top up, fine also if you don't trailer on an open trailer especially at high speeds. Leave it up. I used to have a Model A Phaeton and I didn't even have the saddles on it. I left it up all the time.

I have seen this problem several times in the past. I take a thread file to the spindle to clean up the threads. A helical wire brush on the inside threads of the bearing may help as well.

Small tack weld on the back side.

I tried to re-swedge the stud.......

Unsuccesful. Had to resort to a tac weld with the stud compressed under tension.

There was another stud that had turned but was still locked in place. That one got a small glob of weld too.

Early and late manifold studs.

The 3/8 castle nut with 5/8 hex is a rod cap nut.

I have seen a similar tool used to loosen gasoline line fittings. It worked well but I don't have one. I hope I never again have to drop a gas tank.

Ron, three of the 17-Z-803 testers above have the output on top, but #4 appears like it might have it on bottom (based on what looks to be a starter notch at bottom right and that I can't see an output block at the top).
