There are feet on the frame casting that align on the dummy cam. Very easy to set up, just remember to oil the bearing saddles regularly. I have seen sets of triple gears sold in the past. Do people usually sell them by so much for the set of 3 or by each gear? I guess with the price of new made gears if you can find them, paying for individual gears is a good buy. Just wondering, I do

Art, that is a great idea. Just don't use so much adhesive that you trap an air bubble in the socket that may prevent the bow seating all the way down. In woodworking, dowels often have a slot in the side, or are fluted all round, to allow air to escape as the parts are assembled.

You should get an order together to allow you to purchase the felt washer. It is uniquely suited for the purpose of holding in the oil in, while applying pressure to the pulley to keep it tight and lubricating the face of the rear bushing with the oil retained within the felt washer. Hi All,
I've been having trouble with the starter. Previously the Bendix gear had gotten jammed against the Hogshead and the starter wouldn't move. I took it out and found that the end of the bendix head screw was sheared off. I got a new screw from the vendors and when putting it all back together, the woodruff key wouldn't stay in place. Did you replace the low pedal cam and notch? If they're worn, which they pretty much always are, or the pedal is bent forward, it can be impossible to get the band adjusted properly.

if you are using a solenoid like is used on a mid 70's ford pickup, the bolt pattern fits right on the steering column bolts if you want to put it under the hood for easy access.

The Jackrabbit Clutch disk pack was the secret, as it comes with 8 thicker Turbo400 disks and only uses 9 original disks with it, or perhaps 10 and they are available.
The main advantage is it improves the ability to shift from Lo to Hi or Hi to Low.
Snyders had a set and the transmission is back together now.

1923 Runabout, pretty much all stock, have the kit for rebuilding the coil box with plastic parts replacing the wood, got new contacts, ceramics, etc., as well. I'm wanting to know if y'all can point me to any documents, videos, or other online content that might be helpful to the little project, thanks! It looks straightforward enough, but I'm...

Based on personal experience that strut is important and should be installed. Installed correctly, it maintains box shape and coil contact. Don't make it too tight (or too loose).

What topic do you use to look for random model T stuff on ebay? I've been using Model T parts and accessories and getting a LOT of screwy parts that have nothing to do with Model T's
Last post
Just
Model T ford
Usually pops up in parts and accessories.
Use the filter options and check the used box
Then you get thousands of model t parts minus 2 thousand aluminum T bucket radiators. Lol

I have a 1922 Touring Car and need help with the Battery and Battery box area.
Parts I may need to find:
Metal Battery Box
Battery Box Lid
Wooden Battery Box

I have been using a rinky setup with a wood plank on the bottom with a Group 1 Battery (6v) the battery is ready for replacement so I decided that now might be a good time to fix...

Adam, the wooden battery box was actually the battery case. The plates ans electrolyte were built into the pitch lined wooden box to make the assembled battery. The two hold down clamps engaged on the metal handles at each end of the case. These handles were there to lift the battery.
later the cases were made of hard rubber. Today they are...

Our illustrious government has cancelled the 500,000 Challenge Grant the Piquette was expecting. Piquette is asking for assistance in finding other sources of revenue to replace the grant.

Maybe they should modify the grant request to include a vintage model T ERA golf course complete with period caddies in their white jump suits carrying golfers bags. Model t tractors pulling sickle mowers to keep the greens looking good. Provide shuttle rides to the air port in depot hacks. Sounds like a plan.

If you were going to try to make a stock T engine and transmission as leak proof as possible, what items would you attend to? I'll list some. If I miss any, add them. All oil pan bolts (engine and hogshead), Oil pan inspection cover bolts, Transmission pedal shafts, Camshaft front cover seal, Front crank seal. I didn't list places like the...

I used hard plastic washers for my inspection, valve and transmission cover plate bolts with Yamabond applied to both sides of the gaskets and the threads, and no leaks found.
Did the starter shaft seal trick as above and used flat washers and hex bolts, sealant on the gasket and bottom threads.
I cleaned the hogshead areas around the rearward...

The bushings are aligned with each other that way. This not going to be cheap, $425 + shipping. Please email me if you’re interested and want on the list. Thanks...

Thanks Dan! Is there a good place to look for history / documentation of Joe's work? Did he have a machine shop as a profession or was he a hobbyist? I'd be really interested in reading up on him. Yes, understand the concerns about potential failure. May just get a scat and keep this for history...or not. ;)

Ford only used this coil box for one year. They used mica pieces below the common grounding strip on the bottom to insulate the ground from the mag and battery wires. These mica pieces appear to be about 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 square, and about .030 thick. Does anyone know if mica is available like that?

Knocking around ideas in my head.
Has anyone attempted to build their own driveshaft spool with modern bearings?
if so, are there any bearing part numbers for the bearing race, conical bearing, sealed bearing, shims and collar?
I know they make kits but kind of wondering if I can get the internals and then do the machine work myself.
I am not sure...

Gary, that's where I saw them, last year, but I haven't seen them, again, in months. Somethings wrong when a guy who supposedly makes a product and then he doesn't keep advertising it. McMaster Carr sells s bolt with a washer made in, but they have 12 pointed hex heads.

Photo number six is a good look at an improved two door (advertising sometimes called them a tudor) sedan. The angle of view should see a headlamp bar if the car had one? But no such bar appears to be there. So the car most likely is an early 1926 model. Note that the car...
