I am in the process of fine tuning some Anderson Timers that I own and I need some dimensions.
Look at the image-
A - I need the distance between the point of contact on the terminals where the flapper strikes the terminal.
B - I need the distance between the point of contact on the terminals and the inner rim of the timer case.

Video camera microphones are poor at picking up some sounds, but maybe you can hear the knock. My 1915 runabout ran normally when I shut it off. But the next time I started it there was a definite knock because of some maintenance I did. The fix was simple.

Model T Braking

As part of our semi-annual mechanical inspection necessary to register the car and use it on the road, the inspector has to test the braking.

A modern version of the 'Tapley Meter' is used. It measures the forces when the brakes are applied using an accelerometer.

Anyway, the minimum reading to 'pass' is 50 (somethings!)...

I always wanted a brass T because I thought it would be fun to polish brass ! For the past six years, I've been honored to be Lizzie's caretaker, and she doesn't seem to mind all the mud, dust, wet sheepdogs and dirt lanes through her summer's work. What steering column items should be checked, other than the pitman arm and the steering bracket bushing? How are they checked?

Does any one have a picture of how the brass tire carrier for the running board mounts.

When I restored my '16 Touring in 2008 I installed a new top, new sockets and new laminated top bows.
In about 2012 one side of the rear bow broke right at the socket.
At that time I repaired it by inserting a 1/4 stainless steel rod between the bow and socket.
The rod penetrated about 3 - 4 into each side.
It has held up well.

I found this steering wheel assembly in a bone yard, does anyone know what it will fit? What it is worth? Anyone interested in it? It has been outside in the weather for years, do not know how long. It is a little over 4' long and a 17 steering wheel and wires coming out the bottom. It is located near Pittsburgh, PA.

I am restoring a 1923 Model T Touring that came out of Argentina. When I got it, it was painted yellow and had some significant body damage. Since then, I've stripped it down to the bare metal on all the skins and I've only found traces of a green and a red (primer?) I have not found any trace of black paint at all, anywhere.

Here's a pic of the parts I was able to score at Hershey this year. I pretty much struck out on finding parts for the 1912 Flanders, but I did find a few things of interest, see the attached pic. I haven't had time yet to disassemble or clean anything, it's just sitting on the bench waiting while I catch up on other things. :)

This was on some A stuff I got. So I think it is A, but don’t they fit some T also?

Does anyone out there know the rear offset of the top.

If running a plumb line to the back of the body is the top rear over hang 2 or 3 ?
Does the rear back window panel slant follow the body back line?
I have looked at a lot of pictures of restored cars & this offset is all over the place.

Today our club took a field trip to see the Piquette Plant. For some it has been more than their first. Second time for me. Always a great experience. Tom, our guide,was great.
The place was also all decked out for a wedding. Pretty cool.

I'm surprised no one has commented on the late 1913 touring body that Langs had at Hershey. I've known about those for years, but have only seen a door. Finally after 60 years here is an example! They seem to be the same door latches used in 1914.

I have a 1915 Touring that has been garage kept. The car was last driven 3 years ago at which time there were no issues with the car. I needed the rear spring eyes spread an additional 1-1/4 to line up the shackle pins. This setup worked like a charm.

Particularly helpful IMO were the 2x3 under the two shackle eyes, and the vertical 2-bys that held the spring and the 2x3 in alignment.

Alternating half-turns on the centre C-clamps pulled the eyes smoothly into slip-fit...

What is this? I have seen on 26/27 steering column. Is it Ford or aftermarket? Part of a foot feed? Thanks Dan

Gas lines supplied by Ford were brass. I've had NOS examples, and good used ones also. They are plated. My question is what is the plating? Is it tin or zinc, or something else?

I had to re-trim the front bow on my 1911. When pounding in the upholstery nails with a leather covered hammer, the bow would bounce around. I decided that pushing in the nails with a pair of (leather protected) channel lock pliers, instead of pounding them in with a hammer, was much easier. Car is running a bit rough. Replaced my old (extremely worn out) New Day with this brown Bakelite New Day that Dave Hiltz gave me in 2020. Don’t remember how much wear it had when I put it on, but this is what it looks like now. Is this an acceptable level of wear? I might try polish it up a bit with some emery cloth

I was looking for any info on changing gear ratio on the low speed drum / triple gear I was told some one made a set of custom gears and drum a few years ago but can not find anything. Looking for a longer low speed so when you shift to high it won’t bog this would be for hill climb racing only.

I'm about to install the cowl lacing on my 27 model T cowl ,and was wondering which way the brass rivets would be installed. The rivets are two prongs that go through the lacing. Are they installed from the outside or the inside of the cowl?

I found this crusty Kingston Model D carburetor. It seems quite odd with two needle valves (?) and a tongue throttle. I can't find much info about it online. Was it used on the Model T? Is there any point trying to restore it? (Not sure it can be.). Just curious about it.

I’m sure this is a newbie question, but when I went to remove this plug’s cable, it’s terminal unscrewed from the porcelain. Is this common and repairable, or is it time for new plug? Also, even though the plug’s terminal is loose on the cable terminal, the knurled nut won’t unscrew from the stud.

I wonder what sort of arrangement this T used to run an air compressor. Maybe it was a homemade setup or?? Looks like it runs off the rear axle somehow. Maybe it was engaged someway.
