We set up this forum in Jan and 1000's of items have been sold. That's good. Speaking from personal experience both selling and watching numerous transactions unfold, there are things that work, and others that don't work as well. Here are some pointers to get the most out of placing an ad:
- keep your description as clear and concise as possible...

WTB - 1915 Roadster fender iron - Closed
Replies: 7
by
George Mills » Sun Dec 15, 2024 1:03 pm
First post
Looking for 1915 Roadster Ford part # T5563, Factory Number 4804E Right rear fender iron. Used 13-19 or so... This is NOT for the Touring car version!
Roadsters and Couplet used unique irons.
No need to suggest using a Touring and cold forming the arch to 'fit' the hole in the fender and the anchor saddle bracket.
...The original on the car...
Last post
My many thanks to those who posted above, those who sent emails with 'have some', and those who sent me emails wanting more info on the geometry involved that make the late 'teen' Roadster special. I appreciate the efforts that the community draws upon.
A correct single iron has been found and purchased.

I highly doubt that Ford ever made such a part. As far as I know, all monocle windshields for use on Fords were after-market items.
While they were made and sold during the 1910s, monocle windshields were rarely used on Ford speedsters or racing cars in the era. There are probably more of them on the road today with reproduction monocle...

Unless the holes for the screws holding the ring gear/flywheel have been enlarged, it would cost less to buy a set of magnets, clamp plates and mounting bolts then order the new brass screws and support spools from the suppliers. If you are going thru all this work, suggest NOT putting an old crusty failing mag plate it and get recharged magnets....

Believe this iron was used for just a few months in 1911. This one must have been after the top strap was moved to the radiator mounting bolt and the pattern for this fender iron had not yet been changed back to as it was before. You certainly can drill a hole in it if you want to!
