Anyone have a set of good splash aprons for such a beast? Would prefer original sheet metal, but will consider retro if that’s the only option.

Hi All,
I've seen an example of a rear axle where the keyway was very damaged, and wondered if anyone had attempted to do any welding and grinding to get the keyway area back to normal. Is this a practical thing to do? I have some slight damage on the axle at the keyway and wondered if I could/should attempt to repair it so the key will stay in...

If the taper is good, a new keyway could be cut on the other side from the bad one. BUT not a real good idea because it will weaken the axle.
Replace it! There are lots of good used axles out there.

I was going through my cache today looking for these special bolts. The head sizes are shown with a modern equivalent on the right.

I have available a shortened drive shaft, torque tube and radius rods for a KC Warford or original Warford that is 12” long. $500. I get that much to shorten the driveshaft and tube. The radius rods are a bonus.

Original T era Bevin Bermuda Carriage Foot Bell. This is an original heavy cast brass bell with nickel plate. Nice clean condition with a warm worn patina. It works great and has a very loud DING DONG! when plunger is depressed. 6 inch diameter. Ready to use, lots of fun. 275 includes shipping.

be aware that old cotton linings shrink, and you don't want to purchase one of those unless you're creative with a set of rolls to moosh them back out, and two, don't even consider purchasing a set from the SE or MidWest where there is high humidity. They'll look great but likely be rotten.
