1950s Elevator Parking
I turned on a late night movie and caught a scene where these four lads left their car with an attendant at a high-rise parking garage. A fully automatic system grabbed the car, pulled it onto a lift where it was raised to an upper level and put into its slot. Obviously the filmmaker was impressed enough to have included the whole mechanism for parking. Maybe this pre-dated the current parking garages that have ramps that go round and round and eventually make me dizzy. Can’t say I know what the movie was about but I did enjoy the scene with the car elevator.
