Post by MbStew5755! » Sat Aug 21, 2021 3:26 pm

[image] Do anyone know where I can buy a 12 Volt Cut Out / Voltage Regulator? Mack's , Lang's and Snyder's don't seem to have one in stock. I an going to use a 12 Volt Battery on my 1924 Model TT Truck. Have the light bulbs and battery just need the cut out. Thanks

Any diode cutout will work. there is a replacement unit on ebay for under $14
"New Generator Cutout Electronic Universal 6v, 12v, 24v, Volt DELCO D1702, D1703" Here is a paste of it.

Remember to 1/2 or better the generator output. 4 amps is plenty.

Thanks. I thought I would have to replace the original 6 V Cut out on the generator with a 12 V one.

An original style mechanical type - yes.

just so you know, a cut-out is a cut out. A voltage regulator is a voltage regulator. The VR was a very popular product as it detected when the battery needed a charge and when it did not, thus keeping the battery from abuse at the speeds we drive.

A diode works like a cut-out but like a cut-out is not smart enough to quit pouring the coal to the battery. If the VR ever becomes available again, it is a wise investment.
