26 Roadster Top question

Post by 351cmach » Sun Sep 04, 2022 11:17 am

I am working on replacing the top on my 26 Roadster pickup. I have searched and read the forums and internet for hours and have not found a concrete answer. I am installing the top pads, should they be lined up parallel (even) to the side of the front bow? If not how high or low should it be? Also should it be tacked to the middle bow?

On my 26 roadster, the outboard lower edges of the top pads come down to the bow that extends forward out over the windshield and run paralell to the bow. The outboard lower edges then run straight back to the rear bow, while the top deck material itself slants down a little toward the back of the car. The pads seem to be tacked to the middle bow, but I can't tell for sure if they're tacked or just pulled tight over it.
