Block was cast on April 14, 1914 - need engine number to determine the day it was cast.
"Kooler" is an accessory water circulator.

Thank you.
I remember now, that kooler is part of that water pump.
I will eventually catch on.
Where on the engine do I look for the serial number?
Thank you,
Greg

A bit backwards it was cast on the date on the block 4-14-14
The stamped number tells when it was made into a motor.
The stamped serial number is above the water outlet on the driver’s side.

The "B" and the "18" are mold and/or pattern identification numbers that were used by the factory to trace back to the cause of defective castings. They have served no purpose for more than a hundred years now.
Steve T meant to say "need engine number to determine the day it was" 'assembled'. The day it was cast is the 4 14 14 as he said.
And you get a rare response. Steve T almost never makes a mistake! He knows his stuff.

As Fred says, the number is stamped above the water inlet. If your car is infested by a water pump the number may be hidden behind it.
